Omnissa Presents: App Management, Reimagined

This event took place on June 24-25, 2025.

View recap

In an era where work can happen anywhere, seamless Windows app delivery is mission critical. Yet managing Windows applications continues to be a costly and time-consuming challenge, often resulting in the need for multiple app management tools. This challenge is even more daunting for organizations that deploy apps on physical (your traditional desktops and laptops) and virtual Windows endpoints (VDI, RDSH, DaaS). Our App Volumes 2412 release helps tackle this challenge with our MSI-wrapped VHD package support on physical Windows endpoints. With this release, customers can use App Volumes to simplify the delivery and management of apps across physical and virtual endpoints.

Now, we’re thrilled to introduce Omnissa Apps Essentials: a comprehensive offering designed to streamline app management across any Windows endpoint, while also reducing costs.

What is Apps Essentials?

As part of our Omnissa portfolio, Apps Essentials is a new offering for app delivery and management across physical and virtual Windows endpoints. At the core of Apps Essentials is App Volumes, the technology that offers simplified app packaging for efficient delivery and reduction in app management complexity. This new offering helps customers:

  • Deliver apps on demand when the user clicks on the app
  • Simplify app delivery using existing management solutions such as Workspace ONE UEM, Microsoft SCCM, or Intune
  • Deliver apps on VDI environments based on Horizon and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and hyperscaler environments such as Amazon WorkSpaces Core, Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, etc.

At $5 per named user per month, Apps Essentials provides organizations entitlement to:

  • App Volumes
  • ThinApp: Helps accelerate application deployment and migration by isolating applications from their underlying operating systems.
  • Dynamic Environment Manager: Simplifies management of user profiles, environment settings, and policies across desktops and apps.

Who should choose Apps Essentials?

Apps Essentials is the ideal solution for organizations that:

  • Wish to simplify the app capture and packaging process to drive more efficiency
  • Want to deliver an app across both physical and/or virtual Windows endpoints
  • Need a flexible and cost-effective solution to reduce app management overhead
