Redesigning the Omnissa Platform experience with a customer focus

Born from a two-decades-long, rich legacy with thousands of customers, we embraced a new ownership and name on July 1, 2024, as Omnissa. This turning point marked an auspicious moment for a “redesign” — a strategic product-led initiative to introduce a fresh look and user experience for the Omnissa Platform, which features the industry-leading product suites Omnissa Workspace ONE® and Omnissa Horizon®

Dedicated to making digital work, work, the Omnissa Platform has undergone a significant transformation since its inception. This blog explains how we are reinventing the platform experience, and how these changes continue to reflect a deep commitment to customer value. I hope you will understand this evolution is much more than a mere change in logo; it encapsulates a journey of growth, adaptation, and reimagined purpose.

The first order of business: Introducing a new visual language

Omnissa began with a simple yet bold company logo emblematic of its mission: to empower employees to do their best work from anywhere through smart, seamless, and secure experiences. The company logo is minimalistic, incorporating straightforward typography that resonates with a diverse and dynamic audience. This clean approach signifies openness and ease — which are also important traits for a platform aiming to democratize work locations and tools.

But as a company that is constantly innovating, it also became apparent that the logo needed to represent not only what the Omnissa Platform is today but also what it aspires to become. And, thus, embody a recognition for a modern and dynamic representation mirroring the growth narrative that will continue unfolding in the years to come.

Our product team had a clear strategy — design logos and UX elements that stay true to these core values (openness, ease, modern, dynamic), while infusing them with a contemporary flair. This led to certain design principles:

  • Basic geometric shapes that beautifully align to reflect the product it represents
  • Unifying color theme that boldly mimics and amplifies the Omnissa brand identity
  • Transparency and gradients that mirror the depth and modernity of the platform

The results? Stunning! Magical! And now unveiled …

The video is just a teaser of the terrific work from the product teams. I encourage you to view their extraordinary work here.

Customers will start to see these enhancements being rolled out as part of the upcoming SaaS releases of Workspace ONE and Horizon. So, stay tuned!

Beyond the look and feel: Streamlining the consumption experience

Beyond visual experiences, we placed a great emphasis on the platform value creation for our customers. The brand’s evolution aligns with the introduction of Omnissa Connect — a common platform service designed to enable more meaningful “connections” within the platform and streamline activation and engagement.

Omnissa Connect is set to launch in the second half of our fiscal year, and it promises a stellar administrative and consumption experience across the Omnissa solutions. This unified digital workspace entry point simplifies discovery, trial, deployment, and expansion of Omnissa services.

From disconnected to unified

Customers that purchased our product before December 2023 have encountered a disjointed experience. This stemmed from separate credentials for each product (e.g., Workspace ONE UEM and Horizon) and fragmented interactions across them. With Omnissa Connect, customers will now be offered a single platform identity through Omnissa Cloud Services, streamlining admin journeys and enabling seamless access to multiple subscriptions.

Taking this a step further, a unified customer console will combine the service activation and access functionalities with a common landing page for administrative services. The console will include centralized Identity and Access Management (IAM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Multi-Tenancy Management, Marketplace, Downloads, Support, and more. We are able to achieve this by consolidating erstwhile VMware portals — such as the VMware Cloud Services Platform, Workspace ONE Cloud Admin Hub, My Workspace ONE, and others.

With this approach, Omnissa Connect is designed to enhance customer experience and satisfaction. In addition, Omnissa Connect becomes the foundation for newer cross-platform services for faster solution onboarding, automation workflows, relevant and responsible AI, and more. This is similar to what we have achieved with Intelligence, Marketplace, and Freestyle Orchestrator. Omnissa Connect will optimize the potential that customers derive from their subscriptions.

As we roll out Omnissa Connect, the transition is expected to be frictionless, with customers maintaining existing access methods while gaining the new connected experience. Learn more here. <link KB article by Josh – to be published September 30>

Customer value at the core

Throughout its evolution, Omnissa has maintained a steadfast focus on delivering customer value. The transformation of our brand and platform reflects this commitment. Every change exemplifies a forward-thinking approach, intended to resonate with our customers and enhance their experience. By blending innovation, customer-centricity, and a commitment to excellence, Omnissa has paved the way for technology decision-makers and practitioners to elevate their enterprises. Evolving our platform is one more way Omnissa is demonstrating our commitment to providing a smart, seamless, and secure digital work experience for our customers.
