It's worth noting this is an older Jackery portable power station and it uses a lithium ion battery. New portable power stations these days use longer-lasting LiFePO4 (lithium ion phosphate) battery cells. There are a few main differences between these two battery chemistries, but the most relevant is likely the lifespan. Lithium ion batteries don't last as long as LiFePO4 batteries. Jackery says the Explorer 300 should maintain about 80% of its original battery capacity after 800 cycles. By contrast, most LiFePO4 power stations maintain about 80% after 3,000 to 4,000 cycles. However, given the affordable price of the Explorer 300, it could be a great model for many people.
