Alienware's new 27-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor is only $350

Alienware is making OLED more accessible in the AW2726DM, its new 27-inch gaming monitor. Announced Tuesday, April 14, the display offers a vivid QHD (2,560 x 1,440) QD-OLED screen at the surprisingly reasonable price of $349.99. It's available now on Dell's website.

OLED is a premium display technology that produces high contrast and deep black levels. Panels with upgraded QD-OLED (quantum dot OLED) tech are even brighter and more colorful than regular OLED panels, and thus usually more expensive. Mashable's Leah Stodart, who covers OLED TVs, tells me that the AW2726DM should be especially good for gaming in well-lit rooms.

OLED and QD-OLED gaming monitors from big-name brands like Asus, Dell, LG, MSI, and Samsung normally retail for at least $500 unless they're on sale, according to Best Buy's listings. Up until now, Alienware's QD-OLED monitors have started at $549.99 with the 27-inch AW2725D from mid-2025.

The AW2726DM boasts a 0.03ms response time and buttery 240Hz refresh rate, two other premium gaming features. Its tiltable, swivelable, and height-adjustable stand can be used horizontally or vertically. Here's a look at the rest of its spec sheet:

  • 16:9 aspect ratio

  • 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles

  • 111ppi pixel density

  • DCI-P3 99 percent color gamut

  • AMD FreeSync Premium support and VESA AdaptiveSync certification for smooth performance

  • Two HDMI ports (with support for up to 120Hz refresh rates), one DisplayPort (with support for up to 240Hz), a security lock slot, and a headphone jack

  • Three-year OLED burn-in warranty

Last year's AW2725D had an even better 280Hz refresh rate, a brighter screen, two extra USB ports, and support for up to 280Hz over its HDMI ports and DisplayPort — hence its higher price.

The AW2725D also supported Nvidia's G-Sync technology, which allowed it to match its refresh rate to Nvidia GeForce GPUs' framerates to minimize stuttering and screen tearing. The newer, cheaper AW2726DM monitor can only do this with AMD Radeon GPUs via AMD FreeSync Premium.

Fancy gaming monitors aren't the only Alienware hardware that's getting more accessible in 2026. The company, which has a reputation for making futuristic yet costly gaming gear, previewed a new entry-level gaming laptop at the Consumer Electronics Show back in January. It will arrive sometime later this year at "our most accessible price point yet," per a blog post.
