The banners are firmly in place, the sun is on full beam and the programme is officially in motion: the British Science Festival is here!

Running from 7-11 September, this year's British Science Festival is an ambitious, immersive celebration of science in all its diverse forms, from aerodynamics and human anatomy to sustainable energy and endurance sport. The Festival sees Chelmsford’s city centre and Anglia Ruskin University campus come alive with a treasure trove of fascinating talks, mesmerising experiences and insightful workshops suitable for all.

This is the first time in its 190-year history that the British Science Festival – the longest-standing science festival in Europe – visits the county of Essex. We are therefore thrilled that Anglia Ruskin University is hosting us in Chelmsford this year, supported by the innovators at Teledyne e2v.
