About the role

We're looking for an innovative manager to join our Education team, to support our work in enriching young people’s experience of science in a way that encourages more of them to see it as relevant to their lives

We want all young people, especially those traditionally underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), to feel that science is ‘for them’.  

The BSA’s CREST Awards programme is one of the ways that we achieve that. CREST offers young people aged 5-19 the opportunity to lead their own STEM project, thereby developing their confidence and fostering a positive relationship with science.

As the CREST Product & Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth of the CREST scheme, both across the UK and internationally, through developing the CREST product, and nurturing key partnerships.

We are a friendly group of individuals who care a lot about our work, support and celebrate each other. 

Key responsibilities 

The main responsibilities will be to: 

  • Drive the delivery of CREST Award targets by managing ket stakeholder relationships, supporting, and monitoring​ the performance of main sales channels, including management of th CREST Regional Support Organisations (RCSO) network;
  • Organise an annual CREST RCSO conference, and at least one CREST partner event each academic year​;
  • Create a CREST product plan which aligns with the Education team’s Theory of Change and the BSA’s three-year strategy;
  • Produce regular performance reports on CREST submissions for relevant stakeholders and monitor the costs of delivering the CREST scheme​;
  • Manage the international expansion of CREST through working with partners in specific overseas markets;
  • Manage projects for external funders which are delivered through the delivery of CREST Awards to a particular audience or location​;
  • Work closely with the communications team to develop and implement promotional campaigns and contribute to the annual marketing plan for CREST Awards;​
  • Develop strategies for the collection and analysis of user feedback and work with the Education team to continuously improve the CREST Awards’ platforms and resources, responding to user feedback.​

In addition, the post-holder will be expected to:   ​

  • Support colleagues across the organisation especially at busy times or on specific areas of expertise;
  • Other duties as reasonably required by the line manager. 

About you

This role would suit an innovative thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills. You’ll enjoy developing product ideas based on the needs of our audiences, as well as networking and nurturing high-level partnerships.

You do not need to have worked in education or science before, you could have developed your project management skills in a very different setting, but you’ll also be a solid project manager, able to set and track budgets and manage others effectively.

From time to time the job entails working extended hours and occasional weekends, for which no overtime payments are made. The BSA operates a time off in lieu policy for weekend working and some other out-of-hours instances.
