Based: Our Head Office is based in London, but we have an agile working policy enabling people to work at another UK location up to 4 days/week. Permanent remote working in the UK is possible and we welcome applications from people based in other parts of the UK.
Terms: 0.5 FTE (17.5 hours per week), permanent. Requests for flexible working will be considered
Salary: £33,100- £43,700 FTE per annum, (£16,550 - £21,850 pro-rata)
Our vision
We want all young people, especially those from groups currently underrepresented in STEM, to feel like STEM is ‘for them’. We believe that relevant, meaningful and sustained STEM project work (through our flagship CREST Awards scheme) is a powerful tool to engage and inspire all students and help them build a positive relationship with STEM.
The team
The Education team at the BSA is supportive, creative and innovative and we care deeply about the work that we do. Between us we oversee the CREST Awards scheme (and its associated networks and grants), British Science Week, and a host of funded projects that seek to make access to STEM more equitable.
Your role
Working with a wider team of external developers and designers, as well as the BSA team, you will lead the creation of BSA education resources, from conception through to final product. These could range from British Science Week activity packs, to new CREST Award activities or kit boxes.

You are a creative and committed educator, who believes that all young people are entitled to high quality and relevant STEM education with engaging STEM resources.
You have experience of, and are confident at managing projects and budgets, and able to involve target audiences in the creation of new products.
Above all you’ll have a passion for young people and giving all young people (regardless of background) the skills, inspiration and opportunity to thrive in STEM.

From time to time the job entails working extended hours and occasional weekends, for which no overtime payments are made. The BSA operates a time off in lieu policy for weekend working and some other out-of-hours instances.
