We are so thankful for our customers, employees, and all who have made JustTech into the family we are today.
To show our appreciation, we’re spotlighting JustTech employees to get to know more about them not only as employees but as people, too.
Next up is Thomas Smith, who is a Network & Technical Analyst out of our Huntington, WV office and supports our clients in the WV/KY/OH Tri-State Area!
JustTech Employee Spotlight: Thomas Smith – Technical Analyst
Josh Justice:
Hi, I’m Josh Justice, back for another Employee Spotlight here at JustTech.
Today I’m with the talented Thomas Smith. We’re in our Huntington, West Virginia office today. Thomas is a Technical Analyst here at JustTech, and we’re going to learn a little bit more about him.
Thomas, tell me a little about yourself.
Thomas Smith:
Well, I’m 32 years old and I’m from Wayne, West Virginia. I still live there with my wife and our two kids. And I work here at JustTech.
Josh Justice:
I remember we interviewed you right before the COVID era in 2019. At the time, you were living in Pennsylvania, and you mentioned wanting to move back home to be closer to your family. Looking back, it was really a blessing that you were able to return before COVID, when everything was locked down.
Thomas Smith:
Yeah. I was living in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where I worked at a hospital repairing medical equipment. I wanted to move back home, and I saw an opening for a position at JustTech.
Josh Justice:
Once you saw the job posting and interviewed, what made you want to join JustTech? What attracted you to the company?
Thomas Smith:
I’ve always enjoyed tinkering with things and fixing them. I like working on my car at home and just figuring out how things work. The position at JustTech sounded like exactly what I enjoy doing—working on equipment and solving problems.
Josh Justice:
What do your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
Thomas Smith:
Some days I’m responding to service calls for customers whose copiers aren’t working properly. They put a lot of volume through those machines, so things occasionally need repaired.
Other days, I’m installing new equipment. I’ll deliver the machine, get it set up, make sure everything is working correctly, and then train the customer so they’re comfortable using it.
Josh Justice:
So you’re really a jack of all trades—you install the equipment, train customers, and service the machines afterward.
Thomas Smith:
That’s correct.
Josh Justice:
If a new customer was considering working with JustTech, what would you tell them?
Thomas Smith:
I’d definitely encourage them to do it. It’s a great company with an outstanding work culture. The people I work with are incredibly supportive and always willing to lend a hand if you need help. It’s just a great place to work.
Josh Justice:
We certainly enjoy having you on the team. After every service visit, we ask customers to complete a satisfaction survey, and we consistently receive positive feedback about your work. We really appreciate everything you do.
When you’re not being an all-star at JustTech, what do you enjoy doing?
Thomas Smith:
Like I mentioned, I enjoy working on cars and tinkering with computers. I recently installed the Linux operating system on one of my computers just for fun.
I’m also the Cubmaster for my son’s Cub Scout pack, which keeps me pretty busy.
Josh Justice:
Are you planning to continue with Scouts as your son moves from Cub Scouts into Scouts BSA?
Thomas Smith:
Absolutely. I’m actually an Eagle Scout myself, so it’s something that’s very important to me.
Josh Justice:
I didn’t know that—that’s great to hear.
Well, thank you for taking the time to let everyone get to know you a little better. Thanks, Thomas.
Thomas Smith:
Thanks for talking with me.
