Gamers know that when you drop hundreds of dollars on a new console, you’re going to want to protect it at all costs. This is especially true for portable consoles like the Switch 2. While I do prefer to keep my Switch 2 at home, there are occasions where I need to take it with me, such as a party, vacation, or just to have some entertainment during a long commute.
I had a case for my original Switch, but it was limited to space for my Switch and just six games. I’m a physical game collector, so I need more than six slots. It also would’ve been nice to have an extra compartment for accessories like a charging cable. I kept all this in mind when browsing options for a Switch 2 carrying case, and came across the Belkin Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case on Amazon.
What stood out to me was that it had a mesh compartment for carrying other objects. This made it a must-buy since I like having the extra space to store more items, including game cartridges. Save for one tiny quirk regarding the game slot sleeve, this pick is almost a necessity for any Switch 2 owner.

When my Belkin carrying case arrived, the first thing I noticed was how light it was. In contrast, some cases can feel a little bulky or heavy depending on the material. Since the Belkin case is made of light polyester and velvet, it’s not only easy to tote around, it’s also soft to the touch.
The exterior also has some bulk to it and is pretty tough. I’ve thrown this case in my backpack filled with electronics, shoes, and other items, and my Switch 2 came out unscathed.
One of my biggest concerns while I was shopping for a Nintendo Switch 2 case was purchasing something that would potentially scratch the console’s screen. What’s nice about this case is that the inside is lined completely with velvet to keep its contents safe from scratches or other damage.
In my opinion, the Belkin Switch 2 carrying case is almost perfect, with the exception of the slot sleeve. Whenever you open the case, it flops up, even if you have games inside of it. As a result, trying to get games in and out of this sleeve can be a bit of a pain because you’re fighting with something that naturally flies up.
I imagine that this was done in order to keep the Switch 2 itself as the main thing you see when you open up the case. As much as I love aesthetics, I wish Belkin made this a little more utilitarian and created the sleeve in such a way that it stays down whenever you need to access your games.

When you open the case, the sleeve folds up, showcasing your Switch.

You have to hold the slot sleeve down to access your games, otherwise it’ll just fold up again.
I’ve had the Belkin Switch 2 carrying case for about a year now, and I’m still happy with it. The outside still looks like it’s brand new, the zipper works well, and I’ve appreciated the extra mesh compartment whenever I need to carry extra games or accessories.
Aside from that tiny personal issue I have with the slot sleeve, I’m pretty happy with my purchase, and it didn’t cost much either. It’s important to protect your gear, and this case delivers peace of mind, along with convenience.
