While I may be one in my friend group who brings the tunes, I’m no audiophile. However, I do know when something sounds good, and the Soundcore Motion 300 Wireless Portable Speaker excels in bringing the bass to any get-together.
I came across this little portable Bluetooth speaker during Prime Day on sale, and I scooped it up after reading a few reviews about how impressive the bass was.
I wasn’t disappointed at all with my purchase. The Motion 300 delivered such excellent bass and sound quality that my friend purchased one herself after hearing it. Although there are a few quirks with the bass and volume, overall, it’s one of the best speakers I’ve ever used—and it’s affordable. Sure, you could get something cheaper, but I promise you that the quality is worth those few extra bucks.

The compact Motion 300 weighs about two pounds, so I can toss this thing into my backpack or suitcase without even thinking about it. I also appreciate how solid it feels in hand and that it’ll survive getting dunked in up to three feet of water for 30 minutes.
A small feature that I like related to its portability is the fabric carrying loop. The fabric is fairly sturdy, and the button closure holds tight.
Another thing that impressed me is that you can carry it while it’s attached to your backpack. It has a fabric loop with a button closure that stays secure, even if it swings while you’re walking. Even better, the audio barely distorts and the sound retains its crisp quality.
I did notice that when the bass is thumping and you turn the volume up, there’s a slight dip in quality compared to lower volumes. I found that turning off the “Bass Up” button helps with this. Although you really don’t get that thump anymore, it’s better than listening to the speaker struggle to maintain a steady bass.
I’m horrible at keeping things charged—either I forget to do it or I lose a cord and it’s game over. After a beach trip, I turned the Motion 300 off and left it on my shelf for several months. I recently turned it on and it immediately connected to my phone and was ready to go.
I appreciate this because it’s rare to find electronics that connect automatically like that after several months without any hassle. I struggle with this with my soundbar that I spent a solid amount of money on, as I constantly have to “forget” the device on my phone in order to reconnect it. That wasn’t a problem at all with this little budget speaker. Once fully charged, the Motion 300 delivers up to 13 hours of tunes.
I’ve used many portable speakers in my life, and none have held a candle to the bass that the Motion 300 has, even though it dwindles at max volume. It’s compact, powerful, and offers solid battery life. It’s also truly made for listening on-the-go, with a strong carrying strap that easily attaches to a backpack.
