A baby girl was found abandoned in New York City's Times Square late on Tuesday night, police say.
The NYPD said the six-month-old girl was discovered in a stroller around 11pm on Broadway and West 44th Street.
The infant was found conscious and alert when police were called to the scene, and she was taken to a local hospital in stable condition to be evaluated.
It is unclear who abandoned the baby in the tourist hotspot or how she got there, and authorities have not made any arrests.
Detectives have launched a search for the father of the baby girl, who is believed to frequent the Times Square area, reports ABC7.
Cops are showing pictures of the infant to locals in the Manhattan area and are pulling surveillance images, the outlet said.
The NYPD said the investigation is ongoing.

The abandonment of the child in the public space is illegal, even as New York law states it is possible for a parent who is unable or unwilling to care for their child to give them away.
Under the state's Abandoned Infant Protection Act, those leaving their children must take proper measures to ensure the child is safe.
The law allows parents to abandon an infant at safe locations, including police precincts, hospitals and firehouses.
Older children can also be surrendered to the Administration for Children's Services Field Office, under the state law.
