Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha has claimed 'dark forces' are at work after her husband was suspended from the Green Party for antisemitism.

Daily Mail exclusively revealed earlier this week that Mark Adderley was pulled as a Green candidate in the local elections following YouTube rants comparing Israel to Nazi Germany and blaming Mossad for terror attacks against the Jewish community.

In a lengthy 21-minute social media rant on YouTube addressing her husband's suspension, Sawalha blamed 'dark forces behind everything that you see' and claimed her husband had been 'slandered' and unfairly punished.

She added: 'He is the most decent kind, super smart man with the hugest of hugest of hearts.'

The controversy has prompted questions about Sawalha's high-profile ITV role and reported TV earnings.

Campaign Against Antisemitism has called on ITV to investigate her. A spokesperson said: 'What sort of "dark forces" is Nadia Sawalha referring to?

'You expect spouses to be loyal, but appearing to double down on the sort of conspiratorial tropes that her husband has been promoting and that presumably prompted his suspension from the Green Party is not the way to go about it.

'Ms Sawalha has now drawn scrutiny to herself and Loose Women need to investigate whether she is just a little too loose-tongued to stay in post.'

One of his videos blamed Benjamin Netanyahu's actions for the Bondi Beach mass shooting and endangering Jewish people 'throughout the world'

The TV panellist insisted accusations had been taken out of context and said the couple had 'everything recorded' to prove it.

Sawalha also claimed the suspension followed an internal complaint and described the process as a 'carve up', arguing her husband's activism had been 'totally altruistic'.

She explained her husband is in the 'punishment phase' of 'bravely [standing] up for the Palestinians in a way very few people' have 'the courage' to do.

Sawalha made her name on EastEnders and became one of the original Loose Women back in 1999.

She has also carved out a career as a TV chef, releasing several recipe books.

Adderley had been standing in Crystal Palace & Upper Norwood in the Croydon elections and frequently appears alongside his wife on their YouTube channel discussing Israel and Middle East politics.

In several videos and posts, he referred to alleged 'Israeli false flag' operations and pushed claims linking Israel to the assassination of US political commentator Charlie Kirk and a missile attack on a British base in Cyprus.

Following pressure from antisemitism campaigners and politicians including Communities Minister Steve Reed, the Greens moved to suspend him on Friday night.

The would-be councillor reacted furiously, saying he was 'truly, deeply, viscerally disgusted' and insisting he had spent his 'entire life fighting racism in all its forms'.

The controversy has prompted questions about Sawalha's role on ITV's Loose Women

But it was Sawalha's fierce defence that has now sparked the biggest backlash.

The row has piled fresh pressure on the Greens, already facing scrutiny over candidates' social media histories ahead of local elections.

Critics say the link to a major ITV daytime show risks bringing the controversy to a huge mainstream audience.

A spokesperson for ITV said: 'Nadia Sawalha is a TV presenter, independent commentator and freelance panellist on Loose Women.

'Any views shared by Nadia on her own social platforms are her personal opinions and do not represent or reflect the views of ITV.'

Sawalha's representatives have been contacted for comment.
