Rideshare blowup after driver refuses to take two women a...

Uber has launched an investigation after shocking footage emerged of a driver locked in an argument with two passengers and calling one of them a 'f***ing bi***'.

The women had booked an Uber at Fortitude Valley, in Brisbane, and were already sitting in the back of the car when the fight erupted.

The pair claimed the driver had told them he couldn't take both of them and said they needed to cancel the trip, but they refused, questioning why it was an issue, and that he should be the one to cancel it.

Uber customers may be charged a fee if they cancel their ride too late, with the money passed onto the driver as compensation.

One of the women filmed the altercation, showing the driver standing at the back door, gesturing for them to leave.

'Get out of my car,' he ordered.

'Get out of my car. Can't you understand, f***ing b***h?'

'I am telling you one more time, otherwise I am going to spill coffee on you.'

Footage has emerged online of an Uber driver accused of threatening to pour coffee on two women who refused to get out of the rideshare

One of the stunned women replied: 'I am not cancelling the trip because I have been stung before.

'Why would you accept it? Why is it that hard?'

Tensions quickly escalated as the driver attempted to pull them out.

'Get the f*** away from me,' one of the women yelled.

The commotion sparked the attention of passersby, who stepped in to try and defuse the situation.

'Just get another Uber,' one suggested to the women.

The Uber driver was then accused of pouring coffee on one of the women.

The bystanders were heard telling the women to get out of the Uber.

'It's not worth it,' one of the men said.

The video ended with one of the women sharing her side of the story with bystanders.

'We get in the car and he goes, "I can't take two people." I'm like, "Well why the f*** would you accept the trip?"' she explained.

An Uber spokesman told Daily Mail a review has been launched and the rideshare giant is working to gather further information from those involved.

'Behaviour that violates our community guidelines has no place on the Uber platform and we are currently investigating this matter,' he said.

Passengers are reminded that they can only request an Uber pool trip for themselves, which will only be matched with up to two other riders.

Uber's incident response team is available 24/7 to respond to serious safety reports and support those involved.

Footage of the altercation was shared on social media and sparked a divided response from viewers, with many backing the women.

'I have so many Uber and taxi stories including my own. Girls & women are NOT safe,' one woman commented.

Another asked: 'What’s the difference between taking one or two passengers? Why would he do that?'

Others believed there was another side to the story, pointing out that the women could have handled the situation better.

'Why couldn't they just get out?' one wrote.

'I don't get it, even smirking like that. He has a family to feed and you're not getting out his car why? Play silly games, win stupid prizes.'

'They acknowledge that the ride has already been cancelled but keep on arguing instead of just leaving, then it looks like they walk away but go back to the car for some reason?' a second wrote.

Others questioned why the parties involved did not contact police.
