The owner of an Illinois methadone clinic has been accused of stealing millions of dollars and using the money to fund his lavish lifestyle, including buying a yacht with a vulgar name.
Daniel Robinson, 51, was charged with healthcare fraud and money laundering as part of an alleged scheme to defraud Medicare and Medicaid.
Federal prosecutors claim Robinson, who is the CEO and founder of the Chicago-area clinic ODA Solutions, submitted fraudulent claims for behavioral health counseling and therapy services that were never provided.
Since January 2024, Robinson's company has allegedly billed Illinois Medicaid more than $92 million and has been paid approximately $75 million.
Prosecutors claim Robinson directed others to create fake medical records and then bill for counseling services that were not provided, including for beneficiaries who had died.
He then allegedly transferred approximately $45 million of the fraudulent proceeds to several brokerage and other business bank accounts.
Robinson used $7 million of the fraudulent proceeds to purchase luxury items, including real estate, vehicles, jewelry and a crudely named yacht, prosecutors claim.
According to the criminal complaint, Robinson spent more than $280,000 on a 42-foot Azimut yacht that he named 'Butt Nekkid' and stored at a slip in Chicago.

He also stands accused of purchasing a $84,995 2020 Bentley Continental GT with the allegedly stolen funds.
The filing stated that Robinson paid himself a $20,000-a-week salary from July 2024 through March 2026, totaling $1.8 million.
Robinson was arrested in Florida on Monday, court records show. He then waived his detention hearing in federal court and was extradited to Chicago.
It is unclear when his next court date is.
His attorney, Michael Leonard, told the Daily Mail, 'We look forward to the trial of this matter.'
Leonard told the Chicago Tribune: 'It appears to us that he and his company have been unfairly targeted without a legitimate basis.
'The company was continuously subject to audits, both from private insurance carriers and the government.'
ODA Solutions is a comprehensive behavioral health and inclusive methadone clinic located in Oak Lawn, about 20 miles outside of Chicago, according to the company website. Robinson is listed as the only staff member.

According to his biography, Robinson 'struggled with addiction to crack cocaine and alcohol for many years.'
'Unfortunately, his substance abuse led to a long and extensive criminal history that threatened to destroy his life and his future,' the website stated.
However, he said he has been sober for more than 17 years and became passionate about helping others, leading him to open the clinic.
The Daily Mail contacted Robinson and ODA Solutions for comment.
