The average cost of a pint in the UK is £4.83.
But depending on where in the country you’re drinking, you could spend considerably more - or less - than that.
Research into the average cost of beer in cities and towns across the UK has revealed where in the UK you can expect the cheapest pint.
Here's a rundown of the top 10 places with the cheapest beer in the UK...
Taking the gold medal as the best spot for cheap beer is Bury
Bury, in Greater Manchester, has been crowned the cheapest place in the UK for a beer, with the average pint costing just £2.75, according to data analysed by experts at Fast Loan UK.
The market town is popular for its range of attractions, excellent food and drink and great shopping.
There are plenty of places to get a pint here - the best pub in Bury at the time of writing, according to Tripadvisor reviews, is Waterfold Farm, a family-friendly establishment boasting an all-you-can-eat pub breakfast every morning and a Sunday roast, among other options.
In second place, taking the silver medal, is Kilmarnock, Scotland
Scotland's also one of the best places for a budget-friendly beer, with half of the UK's cheapest towns and cities for pints found there.
The highest on the list is Kilmarnock, a town in East Ayrshire - and at £3.25 a pint, it boasts the second-cheapest beer in the country.
The town has more than 30 pubs and bars all in close proximity to the centre, so Scots might call this a drinker’s paradise.
Taking the bronze medal in the full list is Hull, in the north of England
Next up is Hull, a port city in East Yorkshire with pint prices of just £3.47, according to the study.
If you're visiting, head to The Pelican Pub, the best-rated in Hull on Tripadvisor, for a sporty atmosphere and inviting vibe. For the World Cup, fans can even get five bottled beers here for just £14.
Other highly rated establishments include Ye Olde White Harte, The Lexington Rooftop Bar and The Haworth.
Blackpool is the fourth destination to make the list, best known as a beachside town
The seaside town of Blackpool has been ranked the fourth cheapest place in the UK for a beer, with the average pint costing just £3.50.
The best-ranked pub in Blackpool, according to Tripadvisor reviews, is The Dunes, known for its hearty food, beer garden and dog-friendly facilities.
Other standout options include Albert's Ale Microbar and Raleside Brewhouse.
Dundee in Scotland scoops up the fifth place award
The next Scottish destination to make the list of top 10 cheapest places for beer in the UK is Dundee, with the average pint costing £3.67.
In Dundee, the best rated pub on Tripadvisor is Old Bank Bar, a 2025 Travellers' Choice establishment that was formerly a Bank of Scotland branch.
It's also worth checking out options such as Fisherman's Tavern, The Bell Tree and Kingsway Farm - Dining & Carvery.
Taking position number six in the ranking is Gloucester
There is a clear divide between the north and south of England in beer prices. While the north dominates the top of the rankings, southern entries such as Gloucester still make the top 10 despite being pricier than their northern counterparts.
With an average cost of £3.94, it's one of the best places to get a pint that won't break the bank.
For some of the best beer in the area, head to Wheatstone Inn, a traditional pub with great food.
Ayr takes place number seven, known for its picturesque old town and river
In seventh place is Ayr, Scotland, with £4 the average price for a pint.
Rabbies Bar wins as the best spot in the area, hailed for its excellent atmosphere, attentive staff and safe environment.
'Would highly recommend this bar to all, great atmosphere, sport on large screens, good music and all staff are very friendly,' one visitor raved.
Falkirk in Scotland comes in eighth place on the ranking
Falkirk, in Scotland, takes the number eight spot, with the average pint costing just £4.
The area is known for its contemporary art, including The Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel, as well as its distilleries, such as Falkirk Whisky Distillery and Rosebank Distillery.
You can even pay a visit to central Scotland's largest music beer hall, The Rock Bottom, which features an impressive 27 beer taps, including two exclusive Budweiser Budvar taps.
Greenock is known for its maritime history - and comes in ninth place
Also boasting £4 beers is Greenock, another Scottish destination joining the list.
The historic port town has Victorian architecture and scenic coastal views, as well as prices that rival those in Scotland's better-known destinations.
The best-ranked pubs in Greenock include Tail O' The Bank, Old Bank Bar and One Bruce Street.
Rounding out the top 10 is Wrexham, the only Welsh destination on the list
In 1881, a brewery was set up by German immigrants in the centre of Wrexham.
Wrexham Lager is now the UK's oldest lager brewery and is currently expanding to overseas markets.
It's also the last destination to make the top 10 list, with pints averaging just £4.
