They are the best tennis stars Scotland has ever produced, both earning two Wimbledon titles and a number one world ranking.

And while the Murray brothers are now retired, Sir Andy remains a regular sight at the court, finding new focus as a coach.

For doubles ace Jamie, however, it is just two months since he called time on his career, and he says he will have to ‘work a lot more’ in his retirement compared with Sir Andy due to their ‘different’ financial situations.

In a Radio Times interview Jamie, 40, did not rule out an appearance on a reality TV show, admitting that if he could choose one to star in it would be The Traitors.

The hit BBC show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, sees contestants – either Traitors or Faithfuls – take part in a series of missions for a chance to win £120,000.

Jamie admitted he had not had any offers but said: ‘It’s such a good show.’

The seven-time Grand Slam champion added: ‘I saw the cast for this latest one and I noticed they didn’t have any athletes.’

Jamie was the first British tennis player to be crowned world number one at doubles – the same season his younger brother became the highest-ranked singles player.

But two-time Olympic champion Sir Andy, 39, has amassed a fortune thought to be around £110million compared with Jamie’s estimated £4.5million.

Asked if Sir Andy, who retired from the game in 2024, has given him any advice, Jamie said: ‘No, not really, but I think we’re in different situations financially. What we can and can’t do in retirement.’

He added: ‘Hopefully you’ll see a lot more of me because I need to work a lot more than Andy.’

Jamie won 34 doubles titles, two of those with his brother. In 2015 the pair joined forces in the Davis Cup to deliver the first Great Britain victory in 79 years.
