A 25-year-old man who was fatally shot by drive-by gunmen at a Brixton barbecue party has been pictured for the first time.

Keanu Taylor was one of four people injured in the shooting on Coldharbour lane in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition, but sadly later died.

Three other people, aged 21, 47 and 70, were also taken to hospital - their injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

No arrests have yet been made and officers from the Metropolitan Police are continuing an urgent search for those involved.

Paying tribute to Mr Taylor, his family said: 'Keanu was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson and friend. He was loved by everyone and his smile would light up a room.

'Keanu had the world at his feet, and he's left a huge hole in our family, our hearts are absolutely broken.'

Police were called to the scene outside the Southwyck House estate at 1:14am to reports of gunshots.

Police carry out their investigation at the scene on Coldharbour Lane, where a barbecue had reportedly been taking place

Officers arrived within four minutes and gave emergency first aid to the victims alongside paramedics.

Neighbours said the area where the shooting took place was filled with people attending a barbecue. As shots rang out, many fled into a nearby supermarket for shelter.

Moh John, 45, who works at Payless Food & Wine, told how 'scared' people rushed into his shop, prompting him to lock the door behind them.

Mr John said police had collected the supermarket's CCTV footage of the incident.

The Met has said it is probing the possibility that the shooting is linked to a stabbing which took place near to the scene an hour later.

A 33-year-old man was knifed multiple times and left in a life-threatening condition just 700m away, on Acre Lane.

Friends of Mr Taylor, who was also known as Bish or lil Bish, took to social media to mourn his loss.

Flowers and written tributes, accompanied by a photograph of Mr Taylor, have been left at the scene.

Police were called just after 1am on Saturday to reports of gunshots fired from a car

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is leading the investigation into the shooting, said: 'As we work quickly to identify those responsible, our thoughts are with Keanu's family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

'This was a shocking act of violence which has had a devastating impact on those involved and the local community. I want to reassure residents that we are working urgently to identify and apprehend those responsible.

'It is vital that anyone who saw what happened, or has any information or footage, comes forward. Even the smallest detail could prove crucial to our investigation.

'Local residents will continue to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days. If you have any concerns, please speak to officers.'

Anyone with information or footage of the incident are asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 557/2May. They can also provide information anonymously by phoning Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
