A 13-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving, alongside a 48-year-old man, after two pensions were hit by a car at a caravan park.
Police said an 81-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman were seriously injured when an out-of-control car went crashing through Mile Bank Farm in Whitchurch, Shropshire, on Saturday morning.
Both were taken to hospital, where the man remained in a critical condition on Tuesday afternoon.
A Volvo XC60 smashed into several fences and a gate, before hitting the awning of a caravan and the two pensioners, West Mercia Police said.
The girl and the man were arrested at the scene, police said, and have both been released on bail.
Officers are appealing for anyone who was at the caravan park around the time of the incident to get in touch, the Shropshire Star reports.
PC Mark Hobden, from the force's serious collision investigation unit, said: 'Officers are carrying out a number of enquiries to understand what happened on Saturday relating to this collision, which left two people seriously injured.
