An Afghan migrant imprisoned for attacking a family-of-five in an argument over a football has been handed a further jail sentence for assaulting a prison guard 'like a man possessed'.
Nasratullah Wahidi, 20, pummeled the prison officer on the face three times and on the back of his head while he was dealing with a 'volatile' incident with other inmates.
The asylum seeker's 'violent and unprovoked attack' at HMP Winchester left the guard requiring hospital treatment for a cut lip and has had a 'significant impact' on him.
The officer said he could not understand why Wahidi was so 'incredibly angry' and said he was unable to restrain him when he carried out his brutal attack.
Wahidi was already serving a three-year jail sentence for savagely attacking a family, which included a pregnant mother and three teenage brothers, at a migrant camp.
That attack took place at Chickerell Training Camp, Dorset, when the Afghan kicked a football at another person and a 15-year-old boy stood up to him.
Wahidi pleaded guilty to two charges of intentional strangulation and two charges of assault by beating and was jailed for three years at Bournemouth Crown Court, Dorset.
The attack on the prison officer on December 30 occurred just two weeks after he was jailed and he has now been sentenced to a further 30 weeks.

Wahidi came to Britain legally with his family in 2020 but the Home Office has said they plan to deport him in the near future.
He appeared with an interpreter at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court and blamed his recent bout of violence on 'epilepsy'.
Prosecuting, Lizzy Cox, said: 'There was an incident on the landing of the prison and the officer went to intervene. During the course of this he turned his head to Mr Wahidi and then he felt punches to the back of his head.
'CCTV shows repeated punches to the back of the head and the officer's statement says he turned around and Wahidi was using both hands to punch him.
'He says he looked like a man possessed - he was incredibly angry.
'He said he managed to punch him at least three times to his face and that's in addition to the multiple punches to the back of the head.
'He said he was hit on his left eye, his right cheek, and one caught his lip.
'A prisoner was effectively in between them so it made it difficult for the officer to restrain Mr Wahidi. He reports that Mr Wahidi was still trying to swing at him.
'After the incident he said he realised there was a painful lump on the back of his head and a cut on his lip which was bleeding and tenderness around his eyes. He was still in such pain in the evening that he went to hospital to get checked over.'
The prison officer told the court in a statement: 'I was punched in the face multiple times by the prisoner.
'Although I understand that my role carries an element of risk, being assaulted in this way is not something I should have to face when I'm just carrying out my duties.

'This is a violent and unprovoked attack and I hope it's treated with the seriousness it deserves. I've worked in the role for a number of years and have always tried to treat the people in my care with respect.
'Experiencing this violence has had a significant impact on me. This is the first time I have been assaulted at work in 10 years.
'I take pride in my work and usually have a good rapport with prisoners and I hope this doesn't knock my confidence.'
District Judge Kirsty Allman told Wahidi as she sentenced him: 'I must sentence you for the assault of an emergency worker. That offence took place on December 30 last year.
'Prison officers do an incredibly difficult job. They should not be assaulted at their place of work and this assault clearly had a significant impact upon the officer.
'He went to hospital with a number of injuries and he has told the court it had a significant impact upon him.
'You are only 20 years of age so your brain has not fully developed at this point in your life. However it was against an emergency worker.
'The offence was committed in a prison and the officer was entirely vulnerable surrounded by other inmates. The atmosphere was volatile and that can be seen on the footage.'
