Updated:

A four-bedroom family home has hit the market for £270,000 - complete with its own traditional fish and chip shop.

The 'spacious' 1,850 square foot property is located in Stannington, Sheffield and boasts stunning views across the Rivelin Valley.

It was previously owned by seller Sam Lund and her husband Stephen - though the pair say it is now time for them to 'try something new'.

The property is arranged over three floors and the main living accommodation features a modern open-plan kitchen and lounge with a large bay window.

A private back garden and off-road parking are also included.

But the most interesting feature lies on the ground floor - which boasts a traditional chip store called Nosh's Chippy, complete with a shop area and two preparation rooms.

Ms Lund has said she is wrapping up a lifetime of working in a chip shop for a fresh start with her husband.

She told the Sun the chip shop had been a 'brilliant way to get to know people in a new area' - adding it had been trading for over 40 years and so was a 'real fixture in the area', with the next one 'over half a mile away'.

Sam Lund said she is wrapping up a lifetime of working in a chip shop for a fresh start with her husband Stephen

Ms Lund, now 50, had moved to Stannington in 2007 with her then husband John from Lowestoft in Suffolk where they ran the chippie together.

The couple re-named the property Nosh's Chips after John's nickname.

Sadly, John died of cancer in 2018 at the age of 56.

Ms Lund said the chip shop and her late husband's personality had made him a 'very popular local figure', with droves of people attending his funeral.

She later remarried one of John's friends Stephen, a bathroom fitter, with the pair running the shop together.

Ms Lund said: 'It’s time for me to give up the batter and the oil changes and try something new.

'My husband Stephen and I want to live on a narrow boat but we will miss the customers and the community round here.

'People were incredible when John became ill, it’s something I will never forget.'

On the first floor are three generously sized bedrooms, along with a family bathroom and a separate toilet

The new property owners would have the option of either continuing the legacy of the local chip shop or redeveloping the ground floor into another area of the home

The property also has a private back garden and off-road parking

Stephen described the property as 'like a four bed house with a large deep fat fryer in the living room'

Ms Lund admitted costs had increased in recent years and it had been a 'struggle' to keep prices down.

The most popular order was said to be mini fish and chips with curry sauce, though peas, beans and gravy were also staple choices.

Stephen described the property as 'like a four bed house with a large deep fat fryer in the living room'.

The new property owners would have the option of either continuing the legacy of the local chip shop or redeveloping the ground floor into another area of the home - or else using the food retail licence for another purpose.

The home is on sale with agent Purple Bricks which describes it as a rare find with huge potential.
