Video shows the moment a driver pinballed between parked cars after losing control during a dramatic police chase.

Locals were woken up in the early hours of the morning when a speeding car smashed into a row of parked vehicles on a quiet residential street, in what one witness described as 'a scene from a horror film'.

Tasnim Sardar, 57, was at her home in Abercwmboi, near Aberdare in South Wales, at around 1.20am on Friday when she heard a deafening bang outside.

Her home security camera recorded the terrifying moment the out-of-control vehicle appeared to 'ping-pong' between cars parked along the narrow road before finally grinding to a halt in a shower of debris.

The driver is believed to have lost control while attempting to avoid a central road bollard, sending the car careering into several vehicles.

By daylight, four badly damaged cars had reportedly been declared write-offs and were later towed from the scene.

Tasnim, from Abercwmboi, said: 'I was the first to look out of the window as I'd just been to the loo.

'The scene was horrific like something out of a film.

'The exhaust from the crashed car had been flung into the road along with car parts, debris and shattered windscreens from the vehicles it hit.

'There were about four vehicles that were written off and taken away the next day.'

Tasnim said she saw two police cars following the vehicle moments before the crash, with more emergency crews arriving within minutes.

She said: 'The car crashed because it tried to avoid a central road bollard and due to the excessive speed lost control hence ping-ponging into cars along the street.

'There were two police cars close behind but they slowed down when the joyrider's car came out of control.

'The car directly behind was a marked police car and the second one was unmarked.

'About a minute later, there were four police cars on the scene and then ambulance and fire services showed up.

'The paramedics brought their beds to wheel them away on while the firemen cut parts of the car to get the crash victims out.'

South Wales Police said: 'South Wales Police was called at 1.20am on Friday, April 17, to a collision involving a single car and multiple parked vehicles on Park View Terrace, Abercwmboi.

'Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.'
