A delivery driver has admitted killing a 'loving' young man after ploughing into him while speeding at 60mph in a 40mph road.
Rosie Hanson, 21, was on her way to deliver a takeaway when her VW Golf fatally struck 27-year-old Ryan Phillips in Marine Parade, Sheerness, in Kent, on January 17, 2024.
Mr Phillips had been enjoying an evening walk with his girlfriend when the tragedy occurred.
Hanson, of Minster, previously pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing death by careless driving at Maidstone Crown Court in December.
But today she admitted the offence, as well as a second charge of causing a death while uninsured.
Her lawyer Allan Goh explained that the insurance held by Hanson might not have extended to delivering takeaways.
Hanson continues to maintain that an animal had caused her to swerve on the road, as she previously told the court.
But prosecutor Tom Nicholson said that was 'perhaps of less consequence' given that she was found to have been travelling at 60mph - 20mph above the speed limit - before she 'lost control so grossly' and collided with Mr Phillips, KentOnline reported.

Hanson has been released on bail, with an interim driving ban imposed.
A GoFundMe page set up for the family of Mr Phillips following the tragedy described him as a 'kind, loving and caring young man.'
The tribute continued: 'He had a bright future ahead of him, he was going places, the world was his oyster!'
Judge Oliver Saxby KC adjourned proceedings until July 2.
