Jeffrey Epstein was obsessed with taking Donald Trump down before he was found dead inside his jail cell, according to a new bombshell report.
While locked away inside Manhattan's Metropolitan Correctional Center, the pedophile jotted down his thoughts on the president while he tried to work out a deal with prosecutors, The New York Times reported.
Trump, who has admitted to having a friendly relationship with the disgraced financier, has vehemently denied his ties to Epstein and has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
But during meetings with his legal team inside federal prison, the child sex offender often wrote down brief notes, stating 'Trump is a total con artist - smoke & mirrors', who 'never had money,' the outlet reported.
The brief scribblings were allegedly written by Epstein as he awaited his federal sex trafficking trial, and during Trump's first term in the White House.
The NYT's deep dive also revealed that Epstein had tried to end his life several times before he was found hanging from a noose inside his jail cell on August 10, 2019. The death was ruled a suicide.
His former cellmate, convicted murderer Nicholas Tartaglione, told the outlet that Epstein asked him how to make a noose just days before his first reported suicide attempt weeks earlier on July 22, 2019.

Epstein's inquiry came as he returned to a cell after being denied bail by a judge, according to the NYT.
In the days that followed, Tartaglione said he witnessed his former cellmate making preparations to take his life, including when he saw Epstein trying to tie a sheet to the grate over a cell window.
On another occasion, Tartaglione recalled waking up to Epstein looking 'a little suspicious' in the dark jail cell with a noose hidden under his mattress, the report stated.
Then, on July 22 - less than three weeks before Epstein was found dead - Tartaglione said he witnessed his cellmate motionless on the floor with a noose made out of orange fabric around his neck.
According to the report, the pedophile claimed Tartaglione tried to kill him, but an internal prison investigation cleared him of any connection to the incident.
When Epstein was found dead in his cell, a slew of linens surrounded his body, including several nooses, the publication reported.
Tartaglione, who was moved out of the cell he shared with Epstein shortly after that incident, previously revealed that the sex offender had written an alleged suicide note that said it was 'time to say goodbye,' the outlet previously reported.

The note has been sealed by a federal judge since Epstein's death as part of Tartaglione's own federal case, but the NYT petitioned the judge to unseal it as part of the ongoing release of files related to Epstein.
Tartaglione said he found the note inside a graphic novel that his then-cellmate was reading behind bars.
It read: 'They investigated me for month - found NOTHING!!! It is a treat to be able to choose one's time to say goodbye.'
Epstein continued: 'Watcha want me to do - Bust out crying!! NO FUN - NOT WORTH IT!!,' referencing the Little Rascals film and TV franchise that he occasionally mentioned in emails to family and close friends, per the outlet.
His death has drawn a lot of speculation from the public, with some people claiming that he was killed in jail, or given the chance to take his life by jail guards who allegedly turned a blind eye.
The investigation into his death helped spark the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was passed by Congress with bipartisan support in November 2025.
The act has led to the release of more than three million pages of documents related to Epstein, as well as damning photos and videos.
He was never convicted of federal crimes because he died before his trial could take place.
Epstein was, however, convicted of state charges in Florida in 2008 for procuring a minor for prostitution and solicitation of a prostitute.
As part of a plea deal, he served 13 months in a county jail with work release and had to register as a sex offender.
