An Aussie has shared her disbelief after forking out $4,500 for a couch only to be told that she cannot sit on it a certain way.
Liz Domanico, who bought the furniture from Lounge Lovers, said she noticed the pilling five months in and sent a complaint.
'I wrote an email and I said I should not be paying four and a half thousand dollars for a couch that's gonna pill like this,' she said in a TikTok.
'We got through to like three different stages to the point where they sent someone here to inspect it.'
The fitness and mindset coach claimed she was told the way she sat on the sofa caused the issue.
'So he's come over to our house, inspected all the pilling [and goes], "You're sitting on it wrong",' Ms Domanico said.
'He's like, "I've been doing this for like 40 years now and the couches are getting lower and lower the way that they're made.
'When you get up, it is harder to get up and people are causing that friction, causing the pilling".'

Ms Domanico then sat down and stood up in a gentle and controlled manner, saying that was the correct way instead of flopping down and getting up with force.
She said another thing that frustrated her was the fact that she was never taught how to sit on it properly at the time of purchase.
'It's not that I don't believe him, I'm sure that's correct, but it's like, why were they not gonna tell us this?' Ms Domanico said.
'Why did they not give us a tutorial on how to sit on the couch before we bought a $4,500 sofa?'
Lounge Lovers have since offered a refund despite Ms Domanico claiming she never asked for one.
'Lounge Lovers takes product quality and customer service extremely seriously,' the company said in an email.
'Following a review of all orders containing this fabric, we have identified only a very small number of customers (four in total) who have raised similar concerns with your fabric range, and we are actively investigating those matters as well.
'To resolve this matter, we would like to offer you either a full refund or the opportunity to replace your lounge with an alternative product.'

Ms Domanico said she will use the money to buy a new couch at a different store.
Many Aussies said they had similar experiences with couches bought from elsewhere.
'I had a pilling lounge and the company didn't want to refund me until I went to the ombudsman. Suddenly they were happy to refund me,' one said.
'I had a similar experience and I was told it’s because I was “too heavy” for the lounge,' a second said.
'Same thing happened to me. They wouldn't replace it, so I started posting the pilling on Instagram, tagged the company and they replaced my lounge,' a third said.
Daily Mail contacted Lounge Lovers for comment.
