Dystopian video shows hellish 'teen takeover' overwhelm p...

A shocking video captured a disturbing teen takeover where a driver rammed a police cruiser in front of a cheering crowd in Chicago.

Dozens of teenagers ravaged the streets of the Windy City in violent takeovers just days apart.

On May 6, a terrifying incident was captured around 12:43am when about a dozen teens surrounded a police vehicle as a silver sedan rammed into its front bumper, according to Fox Chicago.

Plumes of smoke filled the air from the friction of tires spinning out as it forced the cruiser back.

Several teens could be seen jumping and cheering as the vehicle was demolished.

Maximus Wyderski, 19, was charged with misdemeanor reckless driving, fleeing/attempting to elude officers, and was also hit with nine vehicle citations.

Wyderski denied being part of the takeover or being the driver behind the assault to Fox News Digital.

He added that his car battery died, and when he tried calling the officers for help, he was falsely accused.

'The second cop, he pulls right behind me, gets out of his car, and tells me to 'get the f*** out,' put my hands up, and then he arrests me,' Wyderski said.

'And then he said that I was a part of an alleged street takeover and then charged me with all that.'

Just two days later, another takeover broke out in the neighborhood of Hegewisch, according to Alderman Peter Chico.

Footage uploaded that same day by Matt Van Swol to X, showing teens lighting fireworks in a wrecked car in the middle of an intersection.

Swol wrote that the video seems like something from a 'third world country, not America.'

His outrage was echoed by Alderman Raymond Lopez, who posted online that those involved with the takeover should all be arrested and have their cars impounded.

Lopez expressed his concern that only one person was arrested to Fox Chicago: 'Everyone there is contributing to the minors there who are breaking the law, and all of them are putting each other's lives at risk.'

'There are municipal codes on the books now for all of those behaviors that we could've cited any one of them for, but that just tells me either A, we didn't have the manpower to do it or we didn't have the willingness to do it.'

Another terrifying night on March 25, when teens wreaked havoc on the city's downtown Loop district

Locals said the mayhem has become a growing issue under the leadership of Mayor Brandon Johnson, following the incident in March

The back-to-back takeovers follow another terrifying night on March 25, when teens wreaked havoc on the city's downtown Loop district.

The mob was seen violently stomping a shirtless man and flying into a frenzy in videos captured during the takeover.

Several police cars were seen stationed nearby, yet they apparently failed to intervene, the video showed.

Private security group Community Intelligence Unit (CIU) reported at least one teen was beaten unconscious, a number of vehicles were destroyed and several people were arrested.

The group also reported that bear mace was used during the melee, and footage showed several rioters appearing to use tasers to zap each other and innocent victims.

Locals say similar scenes are becoming more common under the leadership of Mayor Brandon Johnson, with gangs of teens known to frequently overwhelm the popular Loop district late at night with little resistance from authorities.

Last year, one of the takeovers turned deadly after a 14-year-old was shot in November.
