Woke activist says 'there's no such thing as white face' ...
2026-05-02 · via News | Mail Online

A woke activist has laughed off a cruel 'white face' parody of grieving widow Erika Kirk, while mocking the young mother of two's clothing choices.

Michelle Young took to X to shrug off comedian Drew 'Druski' Desbordes' controversial parody of Kirk, which saw the black comic don white makeup and a blonde wig for a skit that appalled the Turning Point USA president.

Young, who bills herself as an activist advocating for the parents of non-binary children, said: 'There's no such thing as white face and the irony of her saying this while being dressed like Janet Jackson in Rhythm Nation is unintentionally hilarious.'

She was referring to the video for Janet Jackson's 1989 song Rhythm Nation, that saw Jackson don a black military-inspired outfit that bears a passing resemblance to one recently worn by Kirk.

The outfit mocked by Young was worn by Kirk this week while discussing the hatred she has endured since her husband Charlie Kirk was murdered at a Turning Point USA rally in Utah in September 2025.

'Every morning, I wake up to a new headline about me,' Kirk said.

The internet blasted Erika Kirk's Wednesday appearance on her late husband's show, including her all-black outfit and her comments about a comedian's 'whiteface' skit

Activist Michelle Young responded: 'There's no such thing as white face and the irony of her saying this while being dressed like Janet Jackson in Rhythm Nation is unintentionally hilarious'

Many said Kirk's outfit looked almost identical to Janet Jackson's look in her 1989 Rhythm Nation music video

Comedian Druski made videos in which he portrays a conservative woman, complete with a blonde wig, makeup, a cross necklace, a Bible and prosthetics

'I have comedians dressing up in white face, I have people saying I'm not fit to be CEO and I have Candace Owens claiming I murdered my husband,' she added. 'And the list goes on, and on, and on.'

Druski has shared multiple videos in which he portrays a conservative woman, complete with a blonde wig, makeup, a cross necklace, a Bible and prosthetics.

Though he has never named her directly, Kirk and others online appeared to make the connection - something the widow has addressed multiple times.

Even President Donald Trump has slammed the comedian over the skit, declaring at the White House Easter lunch that Kirk should 'sue their a** off.'

Kirk’s comments come days after the TPUSA CEO sobbed, 'I just want to go home,' as she was rushed to safety by two Secret Service agents after a gunman opened fire at DC’s biggest event.

After the incident, Turning Point Action sponsor Derek Myers wrote: 'Erika is okay but very upset. She was crying,' in a post shared to X.

Shortly after, Kirk also posted a statement to X announcing that she would appear on her husband’s show this week to speak about the experience.

'Saturday was yet another traumatic example of the evil in our country and the continued rise in political violence. I’m taking time to spend with my family,' she wrote.

Kirk said she attended Saturday's DC dinner because 'too many journalists have done everything they can to dehumanize me for months, and I wanted to look them in the eye'

Saturday's suspect has since been identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California

Allen faces charges including attempted assassination and could receive a life sentence if convicted

'I will be joining The Charlie Kirk Show Wednesday at 12PM ET to briefly address what took place. Enough is enough.'

She explained that she attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner for one reason and one reason only: 'Too many journalists have done everything they can to dehumanize me for months, and I wanted to look them in the eye.'

'Our country has become unrecognizable. These people have perverted the truth to the point that they motivated the murder of my husband,' Kirk said. 'They have continuously tried to assassinate the president.'

'And anyone who stands in their way is labeled hateful, racist, fascist, and every other trigger word that is grossly dishonest. We want the best for our country. They don't,' she added.

She urged the public to 'come together and decide what kind of country we are going to be before we lose our country altogether.'

While describing the shooting, Kirk said she was shocked that several journalists chose to record on their phones rather than respond appropriately when shots were fired, calling the situation 'utter chaos.'

'During an active shooting, these journalists are using their phones to find moments to capture for clips,' the widow said.

'They were so concerned about getting a video in a room with an active shooter that they could have accidentally and quite literally filmed themselves being shot,' she added.

'Many of those people have become so desensitized that fight or flight became secondary to the opportunity of putting themselves in the story, which ironically, breaks the number one rule of journalism.'

Saturday's suspect has since been identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California, who faces charges including attempted assassination and could receive a life sentence if convicted.

The Daily Mail has reached out to TPUSA for comment.
