Sarah Palin unleashes on 'poisonous' Chrissy Teigen as li...

Sarah Palin has hit out at Chrissy Teigen for her inflammatory rhetoric following the shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

The former Alaska governor posted a photo of herself to her Instagram Story on Wednesday asking the model 'who hurt you' as she reshared one of Teigen's old tweets in which she called on her to 'shoot herself in the face.'

'Listen, I don't want much from Sarah Palin,' Teigen wrote in the resurfaced tweet. 'I just want her to admit partial fault, then shoot herself in the face. Is that wrong?'

In the years since she made the post, Teigen has apologized for her past, cruel tweets, saying she was 'ashamed' of them and describing herself as an 'insecure, attention-seeking troll' who believed she was being clever.

But Palin decided to respond to the years-old post on Wednesday, saying that she is 'all for' free speech, but 'when celebrities wield their platforms to wish ill upon others, they don't just tarnish one life - they poison the collective spirit of the world.

'Such cruelty spreads like digital wildfire, breeding division and hate, all for fleeting clout that serves no real purpose.

'Our world's already heavy with negativity, so wishing harm is not only unnecessary, it's a profound waste of influence that could instead uplift, heal and unite.'

The Instagram Story comes as conservatives call on liberals to confront their violent rhetoric in the wake of the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting.

Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has previously come under fire for a joke he made ahead of Saturday night's ritzy gala in which he called First Lady Melania Trump an 'expectant widow.'

Both President Donald Trump and the First Lady have since called on Kimmel to be fired from his position.

'I appreciate that so many people are incensed by Kimmel's despicable call to violence, and normally [I] would not be responsive to anything that he said, but this is something far beyond the pale,' the president posted to his Truth Social page on Monday, drawing a direct connection between Kimmel's comments and the shooting.

'Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC,' he argued.

In a separate post on X, the First Lady said Kimmel's 'hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country.'

She said the comedian's 'monologue about my family isn't comedy - his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.

'People like Kimmel shouldn't have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate,' Melania continued, calling Kimmel 'a coward' who 'hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him.

Should celebrities be held accountable for fueling hate and division with their public statements?

What's your view?

Late night show host Jimmy Kimmel also came under fire for a joke he made ahead of the White House Correspondents' Dinner, calling First Lady Melania Trump an 'expectant widow'

President Donald Trump called on Disney and ABC to fire Kimmel for the joke

'Enough is enough,' she declared. 'It is time for ABC to take a stand.

'How many times will ABC's leadership enable Kimmel's atrocious behavior at the expense of our community?'

Yet Kimmel has claimed his joke was simply about Trump and Melania's 'age difference.'

'It was a very light roast joke about the fact that he's almost 80 and she's younger than I am. It was not by any stretch of the definition a call to assassination. And they know that,' he said.

He added: 'I've been very vocal for many years speaking out against gun violence, in particular. But I understand that the First Lady had a stressful experience over the weekend and probably every weekend is pretty stressful in that house.'

Democratic California gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter also faced backlash following the shooting for sending an email to donors that included the phrase 'F**k Trump' four times - including in the subject line = just one day after the assassination attempt.

Republican National Committee spokesman Nick Poche argued that the email shows Porter is not fit to be governor.

'Katie Porter is a degenerate loser who is sick in the head, and it's telling that failing Democrat candidates think their path to victory is to fan the flames of violence right after an assassination attempt,' he said in a statement to Fox News.

'The Democratic Party has completely lost its mind and anyone who refuses to condemn Porter's remarks is just as responsible for the rise in left-wing political violence as Porter is.'

Suspected gunman Cole Tomas Allen, 31, allegedly wrote a manifesto ahead of his planned attack on Saturday night that included anti-Trump rhetoric

He is believed to have wanted to target members of the Trump administration

Suspected gunman Cole Tomas Allen, 31, is believed to have targeted members of the Trump administration in his assassination attempt at the ritzy gala on Saturday night.

Investigators later found a manifesto Allen allegedly wrote before the shooting that  included anti-Trump rhetoric.

'Turning the other cheek is for when you yourself are oppressed. I'm not the person raped in a detention camp. I'm not the fisherman executed without trial,' the manifesto reportedly read.

'I'm not a schoolkid blown up or a child starved or a teenage girl abused by the many criminals in this administration. Turning the other cheek when *someone else* is oppressed is not Christian behavior; it is complicity in the oppressor's crimes,' it continued.
