Doorbell cam footage shows missing personal trainer bewil...
Wilko Martinez-cachero · 2026-06-20 · via News | Mail Online

Shocking surveillance footage showed the South Carolina personal trainer who vanished after leaving her gym in a daze, as her best friend revealed the eerie last words she said to her.

Elena Katherine Moore, 39, was seen for the last time on June 11 around the Planet Fitness gym in Lexington, where she signed in around 6.40pm local time.

On Wednesday, a body clothed in the same outfit Moore was last seen in was found in the wooded areas on Old Cherokee Road. The Lexington County Coroner still has not confirmed if the remains are Moore's.

One week before she went missing, Moore was caught by a doorbell camera about half a mile from the gym, appearing confused as she tried to enter a stranger's home.

The footage, first obtained by NewsNation, showed a DoorDash driver delivering food at the door before Moore, wearing black clothes and oversized sunglasses, picks up the order and hands it to the couple living there.

Resident John Moore, of no relation, said the missing woman 'seemed really confused and disoriented about where she was or whatever she was doing.'

On May 31, Moore had allegedly delivered a chilling message to one of her best friends, Sondra Campbell, during the last time they had seen each other.

'She was scared for her life,' Campbell told Fox News Digital. 'She actually said those words to me.'

When Moore disappeared on June 11, she was wearing an olive–green zip–up hoodie with black athletic pants

In the doorbell footage, Moore can be seen briefly interacting with a DoorDash driver, who asks to take a picture of the order and thanks her before leaving.

Moments later, Moore holds the plastic bag with the order in one hand and reads through the receipt with the other.

She appeared to be muttering to herself before the door is opened and the order is collected.

Moore briefly seemed to try to walk into the home before the door was shut in her face, leaving her outside in the hallway.

Sarah Burleson, John Moore's wife, told NewsNation that she later saw the missing woman going through a neighbor's packages.

Moore allegedly told Burleson that she did not know what she was doing.

On Tuesday, Lexington police had released two doorbell photos showing Moore a week before her disappearance.

Campbell, who has known Moore for about 10 years, claimed that her friend had asked to talk alone without providing details about what she meant. The pair met up on May 31.

Moore allegedly said: 'I can't talk to you right now. There's too many people around.'

'But we've got to talk one–on–one,' she added, according to Campbell.

Moore's husband, 47–year–old Brannon Slice, reported her missing one day after she was last sighted

Campbell, who struggled to contain her emotions, said her last encounter with Moore felt 'very different' compared to their usual interactions.

She claimed that she had woken up on June 4 to a missing phone call from Moore but had been unable to get in touch afterwards.

'I think we're all just trying to wrap our head around this,' Campbell told Fox News Digital.

Surveillance footage from the gym showed Moore talking to the front desk staff and wearing an olive green zip–up hoodie with black athletic pants.

After that, Moore was observed walking toward the wooded area behind the nearby Lowe's Home Improvement Store at 9.17pm.

That was the last time she was seen, according to police. She was reported missing by her husband, Brannon Slice, 47, the following day.

Campbell insisted that Moore's actions the day she disappeared seemed unlike her.

'My friend would not be alone walking at nighttime,' Campbell said. 'She just wouldn't be, it's not her.'

Sondra Campbell, one of Moore's best friends, said the last time she saw her felt 'very different' but that Moore was 'scared for her life'

On Wednesday, Lexington police said they had received a report claiming that Moore had been spotted walking toward the woods near Lakeside Middle School, roughly more than one mile from where she was last seen.

A body, whose identity has not been confirmed by authorities, was subsequently discovered.

It is not known what Moore may have been doing in that wooded area where the still unidentified body was found.

'You don't just find people in the woods here,' Adriene Massey, a local, told WIS-TV. 'It's a safe town, safe place. It's very scary - how did she get there?'

Another of Moore's friends, Justin Robertson, previously told the Daily Mail that she is a beloved member of their community.

'Elena is well loved amongst our community, she loves the outdoors, the lake, and has a passion for life,’ Robertson said.

‘She stands firm in her beliefs whether it's the popular thing or not,' he added.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the Lexington Police Department for comment.
