A man has been charged after allegedly pointing a fake gun at shoppers.
Footage shows a person wearing all-white brandished a fake firearm on McRae Street outside Dandenong Plaza, east Melbourne, about 11am on Tuesday.
At one point, the man is seen raising the fake weapon and aiming it at pedestrians.
Victoria Police officers were called to the scene and allegedly found the fake gun on a 30-year-old man.
He does not have a fixed address.
The man was arrested and charged with possessing an imitation firearm as a prohibited person.
He received bail and will attend court at a later date.
Police said officers will increase patrols around the area to ensure community members feel safe.
