Donald Trump delivered a colorful commencement address at the US Coast Guard Academy on Wednesday, blending hardline foreign policy warnings with his signature speech style in which he fawned over the physiques of graduates and wiped away student disciplinary records.
Welcomed by a roaring 21-gun salute alongside Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, Trump became the first president in American history to ever deliver a second commencement address to the institution.
He told the Class of 2026 they were a 'special class' of future warriors who would guard American shores and secure the borders.
'I'm thrilled to become the first president to ever give a second keynote address to this storied institution. I am very proud of that honor,' Trump said.
The speech took a highly animated turn when Trump invited six distinguished cadets onstage, openly marveling at their physical fitness.
Pointing to one graduate who earned a perfect score on every academy fitness test, Trump joked, 'I hate good looking men. We also have the only cadet who earned a perfect score on every single fitness test. I wanna check him out. Look at the muscles on this guy.'
Turning to another cadet, he added, 'I'm not fighting him. This is not UFC. Please understand that.' He then gestured to a female cadet, noting to chuckles from the crowd, 'If I didn't invite her up, they'd accuse me of discrimination.'
Trump told the graduates to 'never feel guilty about success, right?' noting with a smile that some graduates were 'slightly' better than others.

He then delighted the student body by announcing a blanket absolution for outstanding disciplinary restrictions, referencing local restaurant 'Mr. G's' in the process.
'I don't know what it is, but I don't like the sound of this. I'm not… where am I going with this one? But we want you all to have a clean slate as you begin your career, so therefore, Mr. Superintendent, I hereby absolve all cadets who are on restriction for minor conduct infractions, and even somewhat major infractions, effective immediately,' Trump said.
A laughing Trump added, 'You guys got away with murder!'
The President also hinted at his own political longevity, looking far past the current election cycle.
Addressing future academy timelines, he told the crowd, 'They said, in 28 I said, I'm gonna be here in 2028! Maybe I'll be here in 2032, too! I don't know. Maybe I will!'
Pivoting to global affairs, Trump delivered a strict warning to adversaries in the Middle East.
'We're not going to let Iran have a nuclear weapon and blow up the entire Middle East, Israel, the entire Middle East, and then come here for you, not going to happen,' he stated.
He heavily praised the Coast Guard for its surging enrollment and recruitment numbers, its role in securing the southern border, interdicting illegal drugs and its involvement in seizing former Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.

Water was passed out continuously to the graduates throughout the event. To close his remarks, Trump offered the new officers a series of life lessons on resilience and ambition.
'I've learned a lot about life, but the one thing I've really learned is that perseverance, never quitting, never giving up, is a big deal,' Trump said. 'Second, at this pivotal time of transformation for our armed forces, you have to think big. It's much better thinking big, small solutions yield small results.'
