A Qantas flight travelling from Melbourne to Dallas diverted to Tahiti after a passenger allegedly bit a flight attendant and was removed from the plane.
Crew and passengers rushed to support the staff member after they were allegedly attacked by the man during the 18-hour QF21 flight.
The flight was briefly rerouted to Tahiti's capital, Papeete, where the man was removed from the aircraft, met by local police and barred from flying with Qantas again.
'We have zero tolerance for disruptive or threatening behaviour on our flights,' Qantas said.
After refuelling, the flight continued on to Dallas, arriving several hours late.
