Jeremy Clarkson has revealed the changes he made to 'slow down' after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer last year.

The Clarkson's Farm star, 66, who is now in remission, has said the health battle has altered his lifestyle and he now drives 'much more slowly'.

Jeremy's other alterations include going on more walks and eating vegetarian food because he wants to be able to see his grandchildren grow up.

Jeremy has two grandchildren through his daughter Emily and her husband Alex Andrew, Arlo, who is three, and Xanthe, 18 months. 

The former Top Gear host secretly underwent HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) to target the tumour before announcing his diagnosis.

It came just months after he suffered terrifying heart problems and Jeremy has admitted he has a newfound appreciation for life after his brush with death.

He told The Sunday Times newspaper: 'I really like seeing my grandchildren. I want to watch them grow up. I drive much more slowly. I'm a bit of a dawdler. I go for walks a lot. I have vegetarian food.'

Jeremy went public with his health crisis during series five of Clarkson's Farm and he's admitted he only shared the details because his treatment meant he would have to miss a lot of filming.

At the end of the final episode, Jeremy was seen lying in a hospital bed after being rushed to hospital and he's now revealed it came after he restarted blood-thinning medication for his heart problems.

He revealed he hadn't consulted his doctors about starting the medication again and the decision resulted in an emergency dash to hospital.

He told The Sunday Times: 'Two or three weeks after the cancer operation, I thought I'd better put myself back on those blood thinners. Big mistake, huge. It [resulted in] a very big emergency in the middle of the night.

'I'm not even going to go into the treatment that was required as a result of that, because it was horrible. I didn't ask a doctor, I just thought, 'I'm sure it will be all right to go back on blood thinners'.

Jeremy is now urging men to get checked for prostate cancer after surviving two brushes with death in less than a year.

'I am without a doubt, officially, the world's luckiest man,' he said.

The brutal sequence of events began with emergency heart surgery in 2024, where he was fitted with two life-saving stents (small mesh tubes that help keep arteries open).

Then came the cancer blow. A malignant tumour was found in his prostate in August, leading to the secret operation right in the middle of his harvest.

'It was an aggressive type of cancer,' he said. 'It could have spread, it could have gone into the pancreas... and that would have been trouble.'

Now he's using his own experience to deliver a blunt message: 'This is why I have to say to everybody who's reading this, please, please, please go and get checked.

'It's not uncomfortable, it's not undignified. And it's a no-brainer. I did, and that's why I'm sitting here talking to you 11 months down the line.'

His diagnosis came after a routine medical in May last year. 

A blood test showed unusually high prostate-specific antigen levels, leading to scans and a biopsy.

The treatment involved high-intensity focused ultrasound, zapping the affected area without damaging surrounding tissue. It avoids side-effects such as erectile dysfunction and incontinence.

Jeremy's daughter Emily posted a sweet photograph with her father after he confirmed that he is now doing well and is back at work filming the next season of his hit show.

Sharing the affectionate post for her dad hours before Father's Day in the UK, Emily wrote in the caption: '@prostatecanceruk @jeremyclarkson [blue heart emoji]'.

Emily cuddled up to her father in the black and white image as they both clutched drinks at a formal occasion they had attended together.

She also posted a quote from Jeremy urging others to get checked, which read: 'This is why I have to say to everybody who's reading this, please, please, go and get checked. It's not uncomfortable, it's not undignified. And it's a no-brainer. I did, and that's why I'm sitting here talking to you'.

Jeremy has highlighted how his early diagnosis after getting checked has been pivotal in treating the cancer. 

In a video, Jeremy expressed: 'So, a bit of a year. But I am delighted to tell you that season 6 of Clarkson's Farm is currently being filmed.

'It's in production. And that's particularly good news for me because, well if you know, you know, and if you don't know, you need to watch season five,' he said before walking away.
