Marco Pierre White's signature restaurant offering panoramic views of Birmingham has ceased trading 'with immediate effect', alongside the four-star hotel hosting the venue.
Staff at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill Birmingham were said to have been told only hours before a notice informing customers was placed outside the restaurant and The Cube Hotel yesterday.
Both have been based at The Cube, a 231ft tall distinctive building within the Mailbox district, for the last 15 years.
The notice placed on the doors stated: 'We regret to inform you that, with immediate effect, The Cube Hotel and Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill Birmingham have ceased trading and are now closed.
'We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause.'
The notice added: 'The affairs, business and property of MSHA Global Investments Limited (trading as The Cube Hotel) are managed by the joint administrators who act as agents of the company and contract without personal liability.'
The British steakhouse, which operated under the BBC MasterChef star's brand following a licensing agreement with the celebrity chef, was known for its 360-degree panoramic views of Birmingham from the 25th floor.
It had been a long-standing fixture in the city, alongside the 52-bedroom hotel.

News of the restaurant's demise prompted a mixed reaction among social media users.
One wrote: 'Our favourite restaurant, very sad to see it go.'
Another said: 'That’s a shame. I’ve stayed there and eaten at Marco White’s Steakhouse and Bar before. It was a lovely place.'
But others commented the restaurant had changed in recent months.
One said: 'Used to be good - has really gone downhill in recent times. Food, surroundings, staff and clientele.'
Earlier this year, Insider Media reported that Knight Frank was appointed to sell the hotel, including the franchised restaurant, on behalf of joint administrators Richard Easterby and Nick Simmonds of Quantuma Advisory LTD.
A source said staff at the bar and grill were informed of the sudden closure this week.
The restaurant ceased taking bookings as of yesterday afternoon.
White became the youngest chef in the world to be awarded three Michelin stars for his work at the Hyde Park Hotel, aged just 33 in 1995.
The Cube Hotel has declined to comment. Daily Mail has also contacted representatives for Marco Pierre White.
