Billionaire John Paulson, 70, has embarked on his second act following a divorce battle with his ex-wife, as his new fiancée plans to welcome their second child together while they plan a lavish European wedding.
Paulson started dating dietitian and founder of Effective Lifestyle, Alina De Almeida, in 2021, and the couple got engaged three years later.
However, Paulson's divorce from his ex-wife, Jenny Zaharia, was not finalized until May. During their bitter legal proceedings, Paulson built his relationship with De Almeida, 37, and welcomed their daughter in 2025.
Now that his divorce has been finalized, the couple is expecting once again and plans to marry in Monaco next summer, Page Six reported.
'We're excited about our wedding in Monaco and to be welcoming our second child. My life is like a dream come true,' De Almeida told the outlet.
Her husband-to-be added, 'We chose Monaco because it's ultra-sophisticated and elegant. It's the creme de la creme of Europe. All our friends are going to love going there.'
A source told Page Six that the couple is planning three days of festivities and has a network of high-profile guests anticipating a save-the-date invitation.
The outlet also reported that Paulson is friends with Prince Albert of Monaco, speculating that the friendship prompted the couple's choice for their wedding.

The couple are reportedly planning to wed at the famous French villa, Villa La Vigie
The wedding is expected to be held at the Villa La Vigie on the French Riviera. The villa has a storied history of hosting A-listers, including fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
The villa's website boasts that the location cultivates an 'aura of glamour and discretion' and is an ode to 'luxury, beauty and serenity.'
In 2024, when she was expecting her first child, De Almeida told Page Six that the couple had planned to start a family.
'It wasn't much of a surprise. We have been together now for three years, and I have always wanted a family, and I know John will make a great father,' she said.
'John is just a wonderful partner,' De Almeida added. 'He brings out the best in me. He pushed me to the next level with my career. He is very supportive, very patient and caring.'
At the time, Paulson told the outlet that his previous marriage to Jenny 'didn't work out,' adding, 'Divorces are common, but difficult. Alina and I are very happy together. I wish Jenny can find happiness, too.'
Paulson split with Zaharia in 2021 after 21 years of marriage. He had his first two children with her, Danielle and Giselle, who are both in their early 20s.
Months after the filing, an unnamed source told Page Six that the couple had been 'living separate lives for the past 15 years,' despite sharing a 28,000-square-foot townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Paulson cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the cause of his split, according to documents filed in Suffolk County Court, Page Six reported at the time.
The billionaire was accused of 'blindsiding' his ex-wife after moving on with the fitness influencer nearly half his age, while he, in turn, accused Zaharia of trying to 'strip' their daughters of their inheritance.
In 2022, Paulson's lawyers claimed that Zaharia was acting out of 'greed,' warning that if the trusts were divided as she requested, the assets would face 'huge' tax burdens, ultimately leaving their children with a 'diluted' inheritance.
Without a prenup in place, the marriage carried the risk of turning any financial ruling into one of the biggest billion-dollar divorce battles to play out in public.
However, their attorneys released a statement in May, announcing that both sides had come to 'amicably settle their divorce.'
'They consider this settlement a private matter and neither party nor any family nor friends of the parties will have any further comment,' the statement added.
De Almeida confirmed the news to Page Six, adding, 'My life is like a dream come true'
