Not easily fazed having served in Afghanistan and tumbled down a Himalayan mountain, Levison Wood was left ‘looking over his shoulder’ after a stalker pursued him relentlessly, threatened his parents, and breached her restraining order by turning up at his London home, which he sold for his family’s safety.

And distressingly, six years after that stalker was jailed, the TV explorer now tells me: ‘Another stalker came on the scene, who was equally persistent, if not worse.

‘It’s been building up over the last couple of years. She posted stuff through my letterbox which was terrifying. She was turning up at all my events and harassing me and my family,’ explains the former Parachute Regiment officer, who has a ten-month-old daughter, Maya, with his girlfriend Brazilian model and yoga instructor Ana Protasio.

‘I was having to sneak out of fire escapes,’ divulges the TV star, who says the unnamed stalker accosted him at the Chalke Valley History Festival [in Wiltshire], where she was ‘thrown out by security’. A fellow TV adventurer got caught in the crossfire at another event.

‘She came to the British Museum and barged past poor Joanna Lumley to try and get hold of me,’ reveals Levison, whose documentary and book about his travels through South America are due next year.

The stalker ‘ended up getting arrested and she got a restraining order’, but not before the stalking took a heavy toll on his new family.

'When it’s just me [being stalked] you live with it, but when you’ve got a family and a baby... you have to take it seriously, because you never know what people are capable of,’ explains Levison, 44.

Earlier this year, Levison and Ana briefly separated. ‘It came to a bit of a head because of all the pressures from the stalker and public probing,’ he reveals and confirms they are back together. ‘Now everything is fine,’ he adds.

Levison chose not to press charges against his stalker. Sympathetically, he explains: ‘What she really needs is mental health support. I agreed with the judge, as long as she retains the restraining order and doesn’t come anywhere near me, then she doesn’t need criminal prosecution.’

Nadiya's a strict mum

Sir Keir Starmer’s proposed social media ban for under-16s may be music to the ears of former Strictly Come Dancing star Nadiya Bychkova, who already keeps a tight rein on her ten-year-old daughter Mila’s use of such apps.

The Ukrainian professional dancer, 36, tells me at the Toy Story 5 UK Gala at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London: ‘We keep very limited with Mila’s screen-time.’

Mila’s father is Matija Skarabot, 38, a Slovenian footballer to whom Nadiya was engaged before they split. Nadiya adds: ‘I think there are good things [screen-time can do] educationally, but as long as it is all balanced.’

Pubs across England and Scotland will stay open late for some World Cup games, but Nigel Farage fears for watering holes in Labour’s Britain.

‘Pubs were a lot more fun when they opened at 12 o’clock on a Sunday and closed at two in the afternoon.’

Toff is Belle Epoque of the Ascot field 

Georgia Toffolo left Ascot’s fashion pack trailing as she debuted her brunette locks and wore a vintage dress designed more than 120 years ago.

‘The history of this dress frankly astounds me,’ says the TV star alongside this picture she posted. ‘This beautifully beaded dress was made in France for a young lady’s debutante ball.’

Toff, 31, adds: ‘It’s rare to find a wearable survivor from the Belle Epoque.

‘I am so honoured to own such a beautifully detailed gown, a piece of real history.’

Russell Crowe’s gift stuns charity 

He established his credentials by dangling a bent attorney from a tenth storey window in his breakthrough film, LA Confidential.

But there’s a gentler side to movie hardman Russell Crowe, who’s been filming a re-make of the 1986 fantasy-action flick Highlander in Scotland.

Frequently seen around Fort William – even shopping in Morrisons – the 62-year-old Crowe has just stunned volunteers at the Lochaber Education Trust, a local charity based at the foot of Ben Nevis.

‘We are delighted to have received a £2,000 donation from Russell Crowe,’ it announces on social media, thanking him ‘sincerely’. A wise as well as a heartfelt move, perhaps.

Crime king Peter returns to his roots 

Queen Camilla’s favourite crime author Peter James, who moved to Jersey eight years ago with wife Lara, has returned to his native Sussex.

‘We’re near Pulborough,’ he tells me, explaining: ‘My wife’s mother is terminally ill. Lara wanted to be closer to her family and loved ones.’

'It’s easier here to do research and go out with Sussex police,’ adds the creator of detective Roy Grace, who reappears in James’s next bestseller, Dead In Three, Two, One.

James, 77, appointed an OBE for services to literature and charity in the King’s Birthday Honours last week, is readjusting to life in England.

‘Jersey only had one burglar, who made the mistake of burgling the bailiff’s house. When we moved back, the first morning I woke up, let the dogs out, and realised we hadn’t locked a single door or shut a single window.’
