A girl has died and seven others have been injured following a four-vehicle crash in West Melbourne.
The child was killed when the car she was travelling collided with the other vehicles on Dynon Road in inner-city Melbourne at about 4.30pm on Wednesday.
The male driver and another child travelling with her were taken to hospital in a critical condition.
A woman and child also in that vehicle on the major road suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to hospital.
A second driver, a man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a woman driving another car was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A man driving a fourth vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as well.
Investigations are underway.
Police are calling for witnesses or anyone with information, including dashcam footage, to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers via 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
