A young woman suffered over 20 stab wounds in a horrific alleged domestic violence attack.
Victoria, aged 26, was a passenger in white SUV that was pulled over by NSW Police on Baradine Rd at Coonamble, in the state's central west, on Sunday after a car chase.
The car had allegedly evaded police during the pursuit, which was called off at 2am, with the car being finally being pulled over later that morning about 11.10am.
Police alleged the driver, a 28-year-old man, was armed with a machete. He was taken into custody after officers deployed a taser.
Victoria was then found in the front passenger seat of the car with critical injuries and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital. She remains in a serious but stable condition.
Two other passengers - a four-year-old child and an 18-month-old toddler - were found uninjured and have been put in the care of relatives.
A GoFundMe to help cover Victoria's medical expenses detailed her injuries.
'Victoria's injuries are extensive and life-altering,' organiser Katherine Ridge wrote.
