A Wisconsin man who regularly visits his local McDonald's for a sweet tea 'was contemplating his life' after claiming he sucked up a sewage worm into his mouth.

Joe Hauenstein was one of several customers who claimed that their beverages from the Paddock Lake McDonald's were tainted with worms, according to TMJ4 News.

Hauenstein told TMJ4 about his horrible experience on April 26:  'The worm came through the straw and went into my mouth.'

'I spit it out and just sat there contemplating life because I've never had something like that happen to me before. It was absolutely disgusting.'

Hauenstein wasn't alone in his alleged horrifying experience.

Jzamyne Gurske took to Facebook on that same day in April after stopping at the fast-food restaurant in Paddock Lake with her family to get a smoothie and a Sprite.

Furiously, she added that a large worm was floating in the soda they ordered: '...James got a large Sprite, and there is a big worm in it!'

'How does this even happen! I'm extremely angry and disgusted, my child drank off of this before we noticed it was in it.'

Jzamyne Gurske took to Facebook on April 26 after stopping at a fast-food restaurant with her family to get a smoothie and a Sprite. They discovered a worm floating in the Sprite after already taking some sips

Gurske told the outlet that after she uploaded her story featuring some nasty images of the worm inside the beverage, others reached out to say they had the same experience.

Kenosha County health said multiple complaints were filed about the worms at the restaurant.

As officials inspected the McDonald's on April 27, a manager said that they noticed worms coming out of a sewage receptacle under the drive-through soda and ice machine over the weekend, according to a report cited by TMJ4.

Investigators speculated in the report that 'recent flooding may have caused a failure in the floor drain and tiles.'

'Furthermore, this failure may have allowed water to back siphonage into components of the soda/ice machine,' officials added.

Hauenstein highlighted how the suspected origins of the worm make the situation worse: 'Yeah, and it's not just an earthworm - it's a sewage worm, so that makes it even worse.'

Another incident allegedly occurred in Pennsylvania: 'I am absolutely disgusted with roaring spring McDonald's,' Baylee Swope posted on April 25. Swope said she drank her entire cup of tea before finding a worm at the bottom

Sarah Gravlee in Mississippi also claimed to have found a worm in her drink but only after consuming the entire beverage

'If you have a kid, you wouldn't want to feed that to them. Nobody would want to feed a sewage worm to their kids.'

Aside from the alleged incidents at the Paddock Lake McDonald's, several other incidents from across the US shared online how they found worms after purchasing a beverage from their local Mickey D's.

'I am absolutely disgusted with roaring spring McDonald's,' Baylee Swope posted from Pennsylvania on April 25.

Swope said she drank her entire cup of tea before finding a worm at the bottom.

She claimed she was filing a complaint after not receiving any help and added that it was 'not the first time' she had seen this.

Another user in Mississippi posted a similar incident before vowing never to return to McDonald's.

The Daily Mail has reached out to McDonald's for comment.
