Russell Brand says he couldn't have sexually assaulted a ...

Russell Brand claims that he could not have sexually assaulted a film worker as she claims - because he was too much in love with his ex-wife Katy Perry to look at another woman.

The actor and comedian said under oath that he had been too 'consumed' by his feelings for the pop singer - to whom his stormy marriage lasted 14 months - for the allegations against him to be true.

As well as being prosecuted through the criminal courts in the UK for multiple allegations, including four counts of rape, Brand is also being sued in the US civil courts for an alleged sex assault during the filming of the comedy Arthur.

Now the Daily Mail has learned the controversial conspiracist YouTuber has now begun moving millions of pounds of his fortune after closing down a long-running personal company.

With Brand, 50, facing the possible payout of millions in damages if he loses the Arthur case - which in turn might encourage other civil claims - this is believed to be a pre-emptive move to protect his assets from being used for possible payouts.

During his first appearance in person in this case this week, born again Christian Brand swore on the bible before giving evidence.

He then said that at the time the Arthur attack is alleged to have happened - 2011 - he had been 'overwhelmed' with love for Ms Perry and that this meant he would never have cheated on her.

The US case was brought by an unnamed woman who claims that Mr Brand assaulted her in a bathroom while filming the movie, a remake of the 1981 Dudley Moore hit comedy by the same name.

In the case, filed at the New York Supreme Court, the woman claims that Mr Brand exposed himself to her in full view of the cast and crew.

Later that day, Mr Brand allegedly followed the woman - identified only as 'Jane Doe' - to a bathroom and assaulted her as a crew member guarded the door from the outside.

In the deposition - where a defendant is questioned under oath by lawyers - Mr Brand was asked about his marriage to Ms Perry, 41.

He said: 'I was really in love and consumed by love with a person that I really felt was - I felt changed and overwhelmed'.

Asked if he and Ms Perry had been in a monogamous relationship at the time, Mr Brand said: 'Yes'.

The alleged victim's lawyer Nathan Werksman asked: 'Is it your testimony that you were faithful to Katy Perry during your marriage to her?'

Mr Brand said: 'Yes'.

Ms Perry has never revealed the full truth about her marriage to Mr Brand, which infamously ended when he broke things off by text.

She has said she keeps the 'real truth locked away' and has 'moved on' from their union.

In her lawsuit, filed at a court in New York, the unnamed woman claimed that Brand 'appeared intoxicated' and 'smelled of alcohol' and was carrying a bottle of vodka on the set of Arthur.

His lawyers have previously argued that although he had been playing a drunk character but in reality at that point had not taken drink or drugs for eight years - and suggested the claimant appeared to be 'unable to distinguish acting from reality'.

While they were waiting to film a scene at the Manhattan restaurant Le Cirque Mr Brand allegedly 'pulled his erect penis out of his pants in an open and obvious manner', it is claimed.

During the deposition Mr Brand was asked if he had ever referred to a penis as a 'willy'.

Brand said he had but claimed that it was 'innocuous' and it was 'normal in England' to call it that.

Brand, denied the woman's claims, adding that they would be a 'really very, very, very serious sin indeed' and went on: 'Nonconsensual sex is a crime against humankind and God.'

Meanwhile the Mail has learned that Brand is closing the company which has previously channelled millions of his earnings.

Details of the move are revealed in accounts for his company, named Pablo Diablo's Legitimate Business Firm Limited which immediately saw its assets plunge by £11million.

The move raises speculation that Brand is bracing himself for the financial impact of the various legal actions against him.

Brand began the move to close the UK registered business on New Year's Eve, paperwork just published shows.

The report said: 'On December 31, 2025, the director commenced plans to wind up the company'.

The company has long been used to manage fees from Brand's output on platforms like Rumble, live performances and merchandise sales.

Figures for Pablo Diablo's Legitimate Business Firm Limited show it had total assets of almost £15.3million in 2024 which fell to just under £4million in just 12 months to the end of 2025.

After other costs were taken into account the company had reserves of £3.3million, compared to £12million the year before.

Accounts for Pablo Diablo's Legitimate Business Firm Limited also show that Brand faced no corporation tax, meaning the company had no profits to tax in the year to the end of 2025.

Brand actually paid back £7.439million he had loaned from the company, the accounts just published show.

The company staff which includes Brand, the only director, was reduced from 11 to five.

The 50-year-old comedian, actor and TV presenter is due to stand trial in October accused of three counts of rape, three charges of sexual assault, and one allegation of indecent assault, with six women alleging crimes dating from 1999 to 2009.

The trial at Southwark Crown Court is expected to last two months and Brand denies all the charges, which date from 1999 to 2009.

In April, Brand admitted he had 'exploitative' consensual sex with a 16-year-old girl at the height of his fame.

Speaking to interviewer Piers Morgan, Brand said that when he had had sex the girl in the early 2000s, it had been consensual but had also been 'morally and spiritually wrong'.

Another clip from the interview went viral when Mr Morgan asked Mr Brand, a born again Christian, to find a passage from the Bible he had read during one of his UK court appearances.

Mr Brand spent 90 increasingly uncomfortable seconds searching the book before admitting he couldn't find it.

Speaking about his past actions in an appearance on the YouTube show of the US journalist Megyn Kelly, Brand described himself as previously 'selfish' and an 'exploiter of women'.

He said: 'I did sleep with a 16-year-old when I was 30. When I was 30, I was a very different person. I was a lot younger, and I was an immature 30-year-old.'

The Daily Mail contacted Brand and Jane Doe's lawyers, as well as representatives for Ms Perry, who is now dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
