A man accused of killing a minister and her grandson begged for his mother while rejecting a plea deal in court.
Reginald Louis Jackson, 40, cried out for his mom during the hearing at Florida's Miami-Dade Circuit Court on Wednesday.
Jackson is accused of shooting Annette Anderson, 69, and her grandson Tyrone Lenard Walker Jr, 20, the Miami Herald reported.
The victims were found bound with gunshot wounds to the back of their heads in July 2013.
Police said that several of their items were stolen, including Anderson's cell phone, debit card and television along with Walker's Xbox and debit card.
Jackson's alleged accomplice, Roderick Martin, 39, was arrested in 2015. Both are charged with two counts of first-degree murder, robbery, kidnapping and burglary in connection with the case.
The men were called into court to accept a plea deal, but Jackson caused a scene when he noted his family was not present, NBC 6 reported.

Jackson was set to accept a 40-year prison deal and Martin wanted to accept a 25-year deal.
But Jackson complained that his family had left the courthouse after being told his case would not be addressed.
Judge Ellen Sue Venzer said the hearing was not scheduled, but she agreed to take it because defense attorneys told her they would be pleading guilty.
'You had me bring them over,' Venzer told Jackson's attorneys. 'I said yes, really out of respect for y'all. I'm not playing games. We've been doing this for 13 years. Justice delayed is justice denied.'
Martin reportedly begged prosecutors to let him accept the deal without Jackson, but they declined, stating that his offer was dependent on Jackson's acceptance as well.
Martin's alternative was to accept a plea deal requiring him to testify against Jackson, which he refused.
The men are now scheduled to return to court on May 6 for a jury trial, where they face up to life in prison if found guilty.
Jackson and Martin were initially facing the death penalty, but in 2022, a judge declared Jackson intellectually disabled, which prevents him from getting the death penalty.

Prosecutors then waived the death penalty for Martin on March 30. Investigators said DNA and cellphone records connected him to the crime scene.
Jackson, who lived in the same neighborhood, allegedly made two phone calls to Anderson's home shortly before she was killed and left DNA at the scene, according to police.
At the time of the murders, Jackson was on probation after serving a five-year sentence for a series of burglaries.
He was arrested for murder at his girlfriend's home, where they found a 2001 silver Acura that matched surveillance footage of a car leaving Anderson's property, according to the Miami Herald.
Martin was on bond awaiting trial for a separate charge of illegally carrying a firearm.
It is unclear if or how the suspects and the victims knew each other.
Anderson was a minister with the Jesus People Ministries Church and hosted weekly Bible study sessions.
Her grandson, Walker, had only lived in the area for three months while attending ITT Tech.
