Brooklyn Beckham leaves his family out in the cold as he rivals dad David's ice cream advert in clip with a telling song about a new life in the US - days after cashing in on their feud
Charlotte Dean · 2026-06-19 · via News | Mail Online

Brooklyn Beckham showed once again that anything his family does he can try and do better, as he rivalled his father David's ice cream adverts in a new video.

The Beckhams are still in the midst of a bitter fallout and Brooklyn has most recently been accused of selling his family out for a six-figure sum following the release of his two-part DoorDash commercial.

Now, the budding chef, 27, has shared a clip plugging his hot sauce brand Cloud23 in a collaborative video with Chef Yamamoto, where they paired it with corn flavoured ice cream.

Brooklyn declared he was a 'massive fan' of the sweet treat, similarly to his dad who has previously worked with Ninja to promote their Swirl soft-serve maker.

David has been an ambassador for Ninja since 2024 and has been in campaigns involving Ninja's ice-cream products, including the Ninja CREAMi and the Ninja Swirl.

In one video for the brand, David made his own '99' ice cream at home as part of the campaign, which launched last summer.

However, rather than a simple soft serve, Brooklyn and Yamamoto concocted the 'unique and crazy' flavoured ice cream and hot sauce combination from scratch.

Brooklyn shared the tutorial on his Instagram page on Wednesday, using for the soundtrack Mark Knopfler's Sailing to Philadelphia.

The country track is about a new life in America, which is a telling choice given the current state of relations with his estranged British family.

Five months after declaring that he and his wife Nicola Peltz want privacy, Brooklyn was savaged by fans, who branded him 'classless' after he collaborated with the food delivery firm for the sponsored video.

In the teaser clip, released on Monday, Brooklyn smirks and says: 'You're probably wondering why I'm watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home... It's a long story.'

It has been taken as mocking parents David, 51 and Victoria, 52, with whom he no longer speaks - and profiting off their name, while friends of the Beckhams have said the pair are 'devastated and inconsolable' by the jibe.

The second longer version was released on Wednesday, sparking even fiercer backlash from even the most supportive Brooklyn fans with followers commenting in their droves under the Instagram clip.

Brand expert Nick Ede told Daily Mail that for this kind of campaign, Brooklyn would be looking at receiving between £250k-£500k, because he is a brand in his own right now and has a huge social media following.

DoorDash are worth more than $72billion (£52 billion).

It's clear that Brooklyn doesn't need the money. He's rumoured to be worth $10million (£7.4m) in his own right, with a great start in life from his famous family.

And his wife, Nicola, daughter of American billionaire businessman and activist investor Nelson Peltz, gets a $1million-a-month allowance from her father.

So it can only be about sticking the knife in to mum and dad.

Last year, DoorDash, a food order and delivery service, crossed a $1 billion annualized ad revenue run rate globally.

Brooklyn could only command a fee of hundreds of thousands of dollars rather than millions.

National & Mid-Tier celebrities, such as recognizable faces, reality stars, or mid-tier actors typically command £150,000 to £1 million (£750,000) for national television runs.

World-famous stars, such as Jennifer Aniston for Smartwater or George Clooney for Nespresso can command between $1million to $5millionn (or more) per commercial.

David however, received a downpayment of $80million, (£59.6 million) when he shook hands with Adidas as their lifetime brand ambassador in 2003.

Lionel Messi holds the most lucrative celebrity endorsement in history, signing a lifetime deal with Adidas reportedly worth over $1billion, (£750million) in 2017.

Brooklyn's commercial was timed to coincide with the World Cup and came days after the Beckhams hit back at Brooklyn's team’s ‘untrue’ claim that his sister Harper's recent visit to his Beverly Hills home was ‘choreographed’.

On Friday, Harper, who was in the US to watch her dad David get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, was seen arriving at Brooklyn’s home to deliver a letter, but her brother was not home.

A representative for Brooklyn and Nicola accused the Beckhams of a publicity stunt, saying: 'That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras' and he shared this picture of himself in New York

A representative for Brooklyn and Nicola accused the Beckhams of a publicity stunt, saying: 'That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras.'

Speaking to the Daily Mail over the weekend, a Beckham source said: 'It is incredibly sad that this horrible accusation is being levelled at an innocent young girl who just desperately misses her brother.

'Nothing needed to be said at all, so to invent this nasty accusation is really unnecessary.'

In January, Brooklyn released a scathing six-page statement, accusing his family of valuing 'public promotion and endorsements above all else', claiming his parents were 'performative'.

Yet while he may have been quick to point the finger at his parents, Brooklyn also has a lengthy history of using 'Brand Beckham' to land work.

In 2024, Brooklyn claimed that he was ready to stand on his own two feet as he promoted his new upcoming hot sauce range, Cloud 23.

He explained that the name was inspired by the No 23 shirt which David Beckham wore at Real Madrid and LA Galaxy, as well as June 23, the date he proposed to Nicola Peltz.

Yet he insisted that when the hot sauce was released, the public would begin to see him in his own right.

He told InStyle: 'Obviously, I've been so fortunate to get these opportunities where [my last name] does help. But when it comes out in September, I think people are going to be like, "wow."'

Asked what he thought about his nepo baby label, Brooklyn added: 'I mean, I can't help how I was born. I couldn't ask for better parents and I'm just trying to work my a** off and trying to make a name for myself. That's all I can say, really.'

Yet despite his comments, it wasn't long before Brooklyn namedropped his parents to flog the hot sauce.

Last February, Brooklyn mentioned his dad no fewer than three times in an advert for Whole Foods that was filmed ahead of the Super Bowl.

In the skit, Brooklyn said that American football wasn't 'proper football', and that he was going to call his dad to 'set it straight'.

While cooking with his Cloud23 sauce, Brooklyn then asked if the camera operator could locate his phone to see if his dad had called, before explaining that he grew up with football.

The advert ended with Brooklyn's phone ringing and him having a chat with his 'dad'.

Brooklyn discovered his love of cooking in lockdown and after sharing Instagram videos of his meals, he filmed social media series Cookin’ With Brooklyn.

The show, which aired on Facebook Messenger and Instagram, was mercilessly mocked as it was revealed a crew of 62 professionals - including a 'culinary producer' - had been assembled for it, in which he made a sandwich and needed help cooking a hashbrown.

It was produced by influencer content company Wheelhouse DNA at a staggering cost of $100,000 per episode, with TV execs telling The Post the budget and scale was 'unheard of'.

Brooklyn made a point of mentioning his family in every episode, such as telling Nobu restaurateur Nobu Matsuhisa: 'I came here with my dad when I was 13.'

A source told Page Six that the Beckhams' family friend Gordon Ramsay had advised them to put as much money into it as they could.

Before turning his hand to cooking, Brooklyn looked into photography.

At the age of 16, despite having no professional experience, Brooklyn was picked to shoot a Burberry fragrance campaign - sparking a wave of backlash.

Fashion photographer Chris Floyd told the Guardian that Burberry’s decision to employ Brooklyn was a 'devaluation of photography' and that Brooklyn's employment 'goes against everything his parents represent'.

Chris said: 'David and Victoria Beckham represent sheer willpower and graft. Especially her, she’s climbed that mountain all by herself.

'They represent hard work and then their 16-year-old year son comes along and it’s sheer nepotism. He hasn’t done it from hard work, which is counter-intuitive to what his parents represent.'

Meanwhile, fashion photographer Jon Gorrigan said he expected Burberry would have the entire setup ready so that all Brooklyn had to do was click the button.

Jon mused: 'He’s obviously not going to be doing the lighting, he’ll have no clue of the programmes, the cameras or Photoshop.

'It’s going to be so well managed – he’ll have the best hair and makeup, the best models, the very best equipment, so that the chance of any risk is greatly reduced.

'It infuriates me because I learned my trade and other photographers learn their trade but he’s not learning his trade. I can understand why they’re doing it, getting the younger generation interested in Burberry. It definitely annoys me. Names sell, don’t they?'

Burberry chief creative Christopher Bailey defended the decision to hire Brooklyn saying 'his style and attitude were exactly what we wanted to capture the spirit of this new fragrance campaign.'

Brooklyn also filmed social media series Cookin’ With Brooklyn at a reported cost of $100,000 an episode. He made a point of mentioning his family in every episode (pictured with Romeo)

Brooklyn infuriated the photography community again when he released his notorious What I See book in 2017, sharing captures of his life and family

While the campaign came out well, Brooklyn infuriated the photography community again when he released his notorious What I See book in 2017, sharing captures of his life and family.

Aged 18, he was criticised for including blurry, shadowy images of elephants in Kenya, which he said were 'so hard to photograph'.

On the next page, next to a blurry shot of a crowd at a restaurant, the caption said: 'Dinner. I like this picture - it's out of focus but you can tell there's a lot going on.'

The book contained 300 images and was launched with an exhibition in London and Los Angeles.

Brooklyn was subject to widespread mockery when the book was released, with critics noting that it would be highly unusual for an 18-year-old amateur photographer to be offered a book deal by a major publisher without his level of fame and connections

That same year, Brooklyn began a four-year photography course at Parsons School of Design in New York, but he dropped out after a year.

Now, Brooklyn is said to be relying on his father-in-law Nelson Peltz's connections to help him open a burger restaurant in the States.

A source told The Sun: 'Brooklyn has long dreamed of opening a restaurant where he lives and that is finally coming to fruition.

'He has created Beck's Buns and quietly launched it on social media. Brooklyn's company Buster Sauce Inc owns the trademark and he is planning to open a restaurant.'

Yet he couldn't resist dragging his famous parents into his latest venture - the collaboration for DoorDash - which ends with 'more soon', suggesting another similar advert will follow.

The video sparked a backlash with comments now limited for some Instagram users. One fan told Brooklyn: 'If you hate them so much drop the name and stop profiting from association.'

The Daily Mail revealed that friends of the Beckhams have been taken aback by the latest shocking move amid their public family feud, which has left the family devastated.

A friend of the Beckhams told Katie Hind: 'To do an advert based on estrangement from family as if it’s a joke when his family is devastated and his sister and grandparents are inconsolable is shocking.

'Especially from someone who claims he wants peace and privacy.'

The Beckhams have been embroiled in an increasingly acrimonious dispute with Brooklyn and Nicola for months.

In January, Brooklyn released a scathing six-page statement announcing he had cut ties with his family – declaring he was no longer part of 'Brand Beckham' and insisting his parents and their other children are 'performative'.

Shortly before Christmas last year, Brooklyn blocked his parents on Instagram, while Brooklyn and Nicola's lawyers later wrote to the Beckhams' legal team requesting that all communication be conducted through legal representatives.

Brooklyn also claimed David and Victoria had controlled him for much of his life, attempted to drive a wedge between him and Nicola and left him embarrassed when his mother danced 'inappropriately' with him during the first dance at his wedding.

The aspiring chef was last pictured with his family during Christmas 2024, and by May 2025 it was clear a feud had formed after Brooklyn failed to acknowledge either of his parents' birthdays and snubbed David's 50th.

Brooklyn Beckham's statement in full

I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.

Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.

My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.

Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.

They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.

During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me "evil" because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola's Naunni at our table, because they both didn't have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.

The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was "not blood" and "not family." Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I've received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.

Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.

My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.

My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we've tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.

Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad's birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.

When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn't invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.

My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family "love" is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it's at the expense of our professional obligations.

We've gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show 'our perfect family.' But the one time my wife asked for my mum's support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.

The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.

I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.
