A former National Guardsman has pleaded guilty to murdering a fellow soldier he found in bed with his ex-girlfriend.
Natravien Landry, 27, of Louisiana, pleaded guilty on June 11 to murder in the second degree and use of a firearm for the fatal shooting of Sgt. Andre S Stewart Jr, 24, on December 14, 2024.
He now faces a minimum of 10 years behind bars, but could be sentenced to life in prison.
Landry will also face financial penalties and a period of supervised release upon the completion of any prison term, according to Margaret 'Met' Heap, US Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia.
'This guilty plea acknowledges the defendant's responsibility, representing a step towards justice,' Heap said.
'We commend the dedication of the US Army CID and prosecutors whose efforts ensured the case would conclude in a conviction.'

Prosecutors said Landry was working with his Guard unit at Fort Gordon, formerly known as Fort Eisenhower, when he visited the apartment
Prosecutors said Landry was working with his Guard unit at Fort Gordon, formerly known as Fort Eisenhower, when he visited an apartment on the installation of a woman with whom Landry shares a child.
When he saw another vehicle outside, prosecutors said, Landry believed another man was inside - and forced his way past the woman's relatives to enter the home, where he found Stewart with two children.
The woman's aunt said she saw Landry and Stewart get into a physical fight before gunshots rang through the house, according to court records.
Prosecutors said Landry knew Stewart was unarmed at the time.
Stewart died from his injuries about an hour later at the Dwight David Eisenhower Medical Center, leaving behind a five-year-old son who was one of the children inside the apartment at the time of the shooting, Fox News reports.
Stewart was from Clarksville, Tennessee and began his military career in 2019.
He started off as an active duty resource specialist before transitioning to the Army Reserve this year. He was stationed at Fort Meade in Maryland.

The shooting occurred in one of the homes located on the army base, where the mother of Landry's child lived
Landry was detained approximately three hours after the shooting when police tracked down his vehicle.
He then threw a 9mm Glock pistol when he was pulled over, which testing proved was used in the attack.
After being detained, prosecutors said Landry admitted to police that he shot the victim.
