Princess Beatrice lets her hair down at wine entrepreneur's 40th birthday party in Italy and is spotted 'dancing on tables' - after attending without husband Edo
Maanya Sachdeva · 2026-06-01 · via News | Mail Online

New photos of Princess Beatrice revealed she travelled to Rome for a lavish 40th birthday party as questions over whether the royal will attend Peter Phillips's wedding this weekend grow.

Beatrice, 37, danced on tables, ate pasta and drank 'great wine' at the £768-a-night La Posta Vecchia hotel in Palo Laziale as she joined the festivities for Juliet Wine founder Lauren De Niro Pipher's milestone birthday in April.

Photos posted by Lauren on Instagram showed Beatrice posing for group photos and standing on a long wooden table as she joined guests 'from five countries', according to the birthday girl's caption.

In one picture, Lauren has her arm around Beatrice as the older daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson smiles for the camera.

The York princess, who has kept a low profile since the Epstein Files were released, appeared relaxed in the photograph. It is not known whether her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi accompanied Beatrice to Lauren's party.

Beatrice donned two floral print dresses for the Italian soiree, including a satin number from British brand The Vampire's Wife.

Her holiday wardrobe also included a navy tiered dress with a sheer top from royal-approved Australian label Zimmermann, which Beatrice paired with black lace-up espadrilles.

Sharing images from the weekend getaway, Lauren told her followers that there was 'no drama, no early mornings [and] barely any phones except to capture moments'.

'Just presence, great wine, pasta at every meal and more laughter than I can account for,' she wrote on Instagram.

It comes after Beatrice was photographed loading suitcases into a London taxi as she appeared to be preparing for a trip away.

Beatrice's younger sister Eugenie, who is expecting her third child, also travelled to Italy in April when she attended the Sicily wedding of hotel tycoon Sir Rocco Forte's son Charles and handbag designer Georgie Wright.

The princess, wearing a black gown, was pictured chatting to guests at the hotel Villa Igiea in Palermo in the background of photographs shared by socialite Jazzy de Lisser, captioned: 'That's Amore. Most beautiful weekend celebrating The Poodles.'

It is not known whether Eugenie was accompanied by her husband or their children at the 350-person star-studded wedding, which counted Lady Lola Bute and Tish Weinstock among the guests.

Buckingham Palace confirmed Princess Eugenie's pregnancy in a statement on May 4, adding the baby is 'due this summer'.

It added that the couple's sons August, five, and Ernest, two, are 'very excited' to welcome a younger sister or brother to the family.

The 36-year-old princess posted in an accompanying caption on Instagram: 'Baby Brooksbank due 2026!' followed by a series of red heart emojis and one of a baby.

The baby, who will not be an HRH, will be born 15th in line to the throne, with their great-uncle, the Duke of Edinburgh, moving down to 16th place.

While Beatrice and Eugenie have largely remained out of the public eye since shameful revelations about their parents emerged in the Epstein Files, the pair have been spotted mixing among pop royalty and A-listers in recent weeks.

Last month, Eugenie and Beatrice both attended Poppy Delevingne's star-studded 40th birthday party in London alongside their husbands.

Eugenie's baby bump was proudly on show beneath a black dress paired with an electric purple mac, and Jack beamed as he walked at her side.

Despite the problems caused by their errant parents, her older sister Beatrice was also all smiles as she walked into the Hart pub with her spouse Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Eugenie and Beatrice were also spotted enjoying the spring sunshine in central London last month after a lunch together at the exclusive Soho Mews House in Mayfair.

Princess Eugenie showcased her growing baby bump earlier this week as she left an exclusive Mayfair member's club following a Dubai-based company's private dinner

The last time the York sisters were seen with the Royal Family was at their Christmas Day service at Sandringham. They did not join the traditional Easter Sunday service at Windsor, even as sources insisted they 'will be seen' at future family celebrations.

This could include the wedding of Princess Anne's son, Peter Phillips, to his NHS nurse fiancée Harriet Sperling this weekend.

If they attend the nuptials at All Saints' Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, on June 6, it will mark their first major public appearance in over six months.

A source revealed: 'The Royal Family needs good news and nothing unites like a big church wedding. Beatrice is going, and Eugenie is in the second trimester of her pregnancy but hopes to attend.

'The King always wanted both to remain part of the family. He made it clear they are welcome at family events.'

However, while King Charles might be keen to ensure Eugenie and Beatrice are not punished for the sins of their parents, Queen Camilla, The Mail on Sunday has been told, is among those ‘leading the anti-York faction’, closely followed by Prince William.

The Prince of Wales remains furious at the way his uncle’s misdemeanours have cast a shadow across the monarchy he will one day inherit, and concern about the impact the scandal has had on the reputation of the Firm is still high among senior members.

More recently, Camilla is said to have formed the opinion that Eugenie, who is a director of Mayfair art gallery Hauser & Wirth, and Beatrice should stop using their titles, albeit voluntarily.

Prince William, too, is said to be concerned about his cousins’ links to Epstein, a subject on which both have maintained an uncomfortable silence.

According to the source: ‘William was keen to keep the girls close and not let them be tainted by the sins of their father and the stupidity of both parents, but the Epstein revelations mean he has abandoned that plan.

'The way he and Kate have pointedly not publicly welcomed the baby news is a sign of how things have changed.’

Princess Eugenie was most recently spotted leaving an exclusive Mayfair members' club after attending a glitzy private dinner party for Dubai-based company Discovery Dunes.

Last month, Eugenie and Beatrice both attended Poppy Delevingne's star-studded 40th birthday party in London alongside their husbands

Stylish Beatrice was chic in a suede trenchcoat worn over a shimmering outfit, while her husband wore a jacket over a colourful print button down and jeans

Eugenie's husband Jack, 40, works in marketing and sales for Discovery Land Company, who are helping to develop the multi-million-dollar luxury community.

The couple were joined by filmmaker Guy Ritchie and his wife, Jacqui Ainsley, while former England cricketer Freddie Flintoff and his spouse were also spotted departing the prestigious venue.

The dinner was held days after a misconduct in public office probe into the former Duke of York was broadened to consider a wide range of offences, including sexual misconduct and corruption.

Eugenie, 36, has extensive business and social ties to the Middle East and was reportedly spotted with her mother, Sarah Ferguson, in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year.

Three months after Andrew was arrested over claims that he leaked secrets to paedophile financier Epstein during his decade as the UK's trade envoy, officers are now interviewing witnesses about suspected criminal offences.

Thames Valley Police has made a public appeal for potential 'victim survivors' to come forward after the lawyer for a woman who claims she was trafficked to the UK to have sex with Andrew at Royal Lodge said she won't speak to British police.

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.

The woman, who claims Epstein sent her to Britain in 2010 when she was in her 20s, is said to have spent a night with Andrew at Royal Lodge in Windsor before being given tea and a tour of Buckingham Palace.

She was the second woman to come forward with claims involving the former prince and the first to make accusations involving a royal residence.

But she has now said, via her lawyer Brad Edwards, that she will not speak to police here as she does not have faith in the authorities and fears further intrusion into her life.

It comes after Thames Valley Police said last week it had been in touch with the woman's lawyer 'to confirm that, should she wish to report this to police, it will be taken seriously and handled with care, sensitivity and respect for her privacy and her right for anonymity'.
