A senior detective responsible for domestic violence cases who was held back by police after a foul-mouthed outburst following a boozy bottomless brunch has been struck off.
Detective Inspector Mark Portelli was found guilty of gross misconduct for the way he behaved during the drunken incident in Dorset.
The officer had consumed several cocktails and glasses of prosecco at a bottomless brunch event before going to the nightclub.
He was kicked out of the club for an alleged assault inside the venue and then arrested outside by colleagues from Dorset Police during the early hours of March 31, 2024.
Bodycam footage showed him angrily shouting out 'you stupid f****** c***' and 'you stupid f**** t***' in a drunken rant.
In the video, his colleagues can be heard saying 'this isn't going to help, is it?' and repeatedly calling Portelli's name in a desperate attempt to calm him.
The video - shot at 12.45am - shows the bearded officer dressed for a night out in a black collared shirt with his hands cuffed behind his back.
Although he was convicted of using threatening or abusive words likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, this was later overturned by a court after Portelli successfully argued he had shouted these words at himself for the way he had behaved.

However, the officer of 21 years still faced disciplinary proceedings over his behaviour towards the nightclub staff and fellow police officers relating to the same incident.
The disciplinary panel found Portelli had abused his position as a police officer by attempting to influence how the door staff dealt with him by telling them he was a police officer.
He also used his rank to try to influence how his colleagues of lower rank dealt with him.
Furthermore, the panel found that he spoke to those officers in a challenging, arrogant and patronising manner.
During the hearing, Portelli said he took full responsibility for his behaviour on the night and said he was embarrassed and ashamed of the language he had used.
He also accepted that his conduct at the time made the situation more difficult for his colleagues.
However, the panel found he had breached the Standard of Professional Behaviour concerning authority, respect and courtesy as well as discreditable conduct and honesty and integrity.
He was dismissed without notice and will be placed on the police barred list.
The incident took place outside of Canvas nightclub in Bournemouth in the early hours of March 31
Portelli, from Poole, Dorset, worked in the high harm unit of Dorset Police covering domestic violence and stalking cases as well as repeat offenders.
Afterwards Deputy Chief Constable Rachel Farrell said: 'Whether on or off duty, our officers should adhere to the highest standards of behaviour and integrity at all times.
'The public should quite rightly have confidence that when these standards fall below what is expected, robust action will be taken.
'The way Mark Portelli treated members of the public, who were performing their duties, was unacceptable and so was his conduct as a higher-ranking officer towards his colleagues, who were trying to resolve the incident in a professional manner.
'The officers attending the incident showed courage, integrity and clear impartiality and I commend them on their actions.
'We remain absolutely committed to ensuring officers whose actions fall below the high standards we expect of them are held to account and we want to send a message that there is no place in our organisation for someone who behaves in this way.'
