A Texas house party went awry when a gunman opened fire, killing two and injuring at least eight people.
The shooting occurred at the Westminster Apartments on Coulter Street in Amarillo around 2am on Saturday.
The party was full of juveniles and young adults, the Amarillo Police Department said in a statement.
The altercation came after 'several' individuals were asked to leave a location, and they then followed partygoers to a different location, where they 'attempted to enter an apartment,' police said.
Using a rifle-style weapon, they opened fire, killing two people. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other died at the hospital.
Eight others were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
It is unclear if there was one or multiple shooters.
