A three-year-old girl who died after being hit by a car has been remembered as 'full of life and full of energy'.

Esha was walking home from daycare with her her mother, grandmother and younger brother when she was struck by a ute in Caboolture, north Brisbane, at 6.47pm on Tuesday, 7News reported.

It's understood a Nissan Navara ute was turning right from Lynfield Drive onto Toohey Street when it hit the little girl.

She sustained critical injuries in the collision and was sadly declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, a 49-year-old Caboolture woman, stayed at the intersection and assisted Queensland Police with its investigation.

Esha's grandmother, Amtus Akber, visited the scene of the collision to see the dozens of flowers and stuffed animals left for her granddaughter on Wednesday.

'She was a special child, a very, very loving child. Loveable and loving child,' she said of Esha.

'The way she loved you, the way she hugged you.'

Traumatised witnesses recalled the harrowing scene. 

'I ran up to see what was going on and to see if there was anything that I could do, but she was too far gone,' local Jason Lubbers said.

Another resident, Kevin Taylor, arrived at the intersection to see Esha's mother hugging her toddler tightly.

'It was sad - she was distraught. Very, very distraught,' he said.

It's understood a bus may have blocked the ute driver's vision, meaning she couldn't see Esha standing in the road. 

Queensland Police is treating the collision as a tragic accident, but the investigation is ongoing. 

'We just spent hours with the family and they are absolutely distraught. Just disbelief they've lost their three-year-old,' Sergeant Greg Price said.
