Phil Foden's furious neighbours tell axed England star he 'doesn't own the street' after wild parties at his £3.5million Cheshire mansion - as teammates gear up for World Cup
David Pilditch · 2026-06-13 · via News | Mail Online

They could perhaps be forgiven for drowning their sorrows after Phil Foden was left out of England's World Cup squad.

But the Manchester City star's family are facing a furious backlash following a series of disruptive gatherings which have shattered the calm of the affluent Cheshire village of Prestbury.

Well-heeled residents have decided enough is enough following the latest incident - a 13-hour party to celebrate the 18th birthday of the footballer's brother Logan.

The event - said to be hosted by Foden's mother Claire Rowlands and father Phil senior - featured fireworks after midnight and ear-splitting music which was so loud neighbours reported it left windows rattling, babies crying and pets cowering in terror.

One video obtained by the Daily Mail shows noisy display-style pyrotechnics being fired off into the night while in another the deafening sound system triggers a car alarm to go off.

One despairing neighbour can also angrily be heard demanding the family: 'Turn the f***ing music down.'

In the aftermath of the party, angry residents accused the family of showing 'a diabolical contempt' for the neighbourhood.

Locals say that the Fodens have turned up the volume since the star's shock omission from Thomas Tuchel's squad which kicks off their bid for World Cup glory in their opening match against Croatia next Wednesday.

It comes after a series of disruptive gatherings which have shattered the calm of the affluent Cheshire village of Prestbury (pictured, file photo)

Now neighbours living in the village's most sought-after street have written an open letter to the family.

It reads: 'We are appalled by the continued disregard for our peace and quiet. Prestbury Village does not belong to you.

'We are especially concerned to have noted an increase in loud music being played after the news was announced that Phil Foden has not made the England squad.

'We ask once more that the Fodens desist in their diabolical contempt for our neighbourhood.'

The letter - signed 'The Castlegate community Prestbury' and posted on a neighbourhood group chat - appears to lay the blame at Foden's club for failing to rein the star in.

It says: 'We are especially ashamed of Manchester City's complete inability to curb Foden's actions.

'How can they tolerate such reprehensible behaviour from one of their players?

'Manchester City are the enablers of the Fodens' horrific treatment of our community.'

The footballer himself, however, appears to not have been present at the event.

After Manchester City missed out on winning the Premier League, Foden, 26, headed off on holiday to Marbella with his fiancee Rebecca, 24, and their three children.

On his return, he went on a fishing trip with friends at a £35-a-night lake site in Lincolnshire where he was photographed with a huge carp he had caught.

However, he too has previously invoked the ire of neighbours with relations reported to have been strained ever since he bought a five-bedroom mansion in the village in 2021.

Police were called in July 2024 when he hosted a party which neighbours described as being 'louder than Glastonbury'.

Foden was branded 'selfish' by locals after the children's party - which is said to have featured loud gangster rap music - went on late into the night.

Weeks later Foden moved out of the property - which has its own cinema and indoor pool - and he later sold it for nearly £3million.

He splashed out on a new home in a more rural part of Cheshire but angered locals there in May last year when he hosted a fishing-themed 25th birthday party - complete with a nightclub-style sound system, singer and DJs.

Rebecca posted videos of the party on their son Ronnie's Instagram account which showed 2018 The Voice singer Holly Ellison belting out dance tracks at the bash.

In November 2024, locals were up in arms after Claire, 46, hosted a 'deafening two-hour fireworks party' compared with displays at 'Sydney Harbour Bridge or Disneyland' in the back garden of the property.

One annoyed local told the Daily Mail at the time: 'They do throw some wild parties there and it does get noisy.

'People don't mind them enjoying themselves, but this is ridiculous.

'It's beginning to be known as a party house and there's always complaints about the noise and loud music!'

Neighbours claimed that they had been given no warning about the latest bash but that on one occasion Claire had written to them about a party previously scheduled to take place at the property asking for their 'understanding' - and her hopes that they would keep quiet about it.

In the letter she purportedly wrote: 'This will be a small family-only gathering and I will do my best to ensure it does not cause any inconvenience or disturbance to anyone on the street.

'I would also kindly ask for your discretion regarding this event.

'Unfortunately previous gatherings at my home have been unnecessarily mentioned in the media and I would greatly appreciate if this private family occasion could remain private.'

It's not just notorious parties that have thrust Claire into the public eye.

In January 2024, Claire described herself as 'like an animal' when on the booze after she was arrested for being drunk and disorderly outside a North Wales nightclub the previous September.

She was abusive to police officers and body-cam footage showed her shouting at them to 'f*** off' before she was placed in handcuffs and detained.

In a police interview, Claire admitted: 'I kicked off with the police officers. I was a bit of a b***h.'

Llandudno Magistrates' Court heard the night started when Claire had been invited to a caravan with two of her friends as respite from caring for her youngest son, who is disabled and requires 24-hour care.

She told the court: 'The plan was just to go out, have a laugh, let our hair down and enjoy ourselves. We went to the caravan, had a few cans, washed our hair and got all dressed up.'

The group went to a bar on the caravan site, and 'had some fun, doing some karaoke and getting all the old people dancing to Motown'.

They later went to a nightclub in Towyn where Claire downed shots of vodka and tequila before she was asked to leave by bouncers who accused her of assaulting someone.

Magistrates were shown CCTV footage from the club which showed her knocking a baseball cap off Paul Shortman's head and then trying to put it back on him.

Claire told the court she was just having a 'bit of fun' and did not intend to hurt the man when she tried to put his cap back on.

She said: 'I was drunk. It was just a bit of fun, a bit of banter. I just could not believe it, that I could get into trouble for knocking someone's cap off. It's my party trick, knocking someone's cap off and putting it back on.

'I did not mean him any harm or to hurt him and you can see that on the video. It was just a bit of banter which has been taken the wrong way.'
