Donald Trump has dropped his $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service amid reports that he is poised to gain control over a $1.7 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund for his business entities and allies.
The Justice Department was leading negotiations with Trump in which he would settle the lawsuit in exchange for control of the billion-dollar fund, allowing him to compensate allies who claim they were persecuted by the Biden administration.
Trump, along with his two eldest sons and the Trump Organization, voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit against the tax-collecting agency 'with prejudice,' according to a Monday court filing
