Police are investigating if a child was deliberately drowned after a body was found at a property west of Brisbane on Monday night.
Emergency services were called to a home in Lowood shortly before 11.10pm.
A child was found unresponsive at the property and was later declared dead.
Police say a 31-year-old woman is assisting with inquiries.
'The woman and the child were known to each other however we are unable to comment further on their relationship at this stage,' Queensland Police said in a statement.
'A crime scene has been declared and investigations into the circumstances is underway.'
