Global airlines are facing their worst crisis since the pandemic as more than 13,000 flights have already been cancelled in May amid the jet fuel supply crunch.

Concerns about the supply of jet fuel due to the Iran war conflict disrupting Middle East supplies since late February are growing as the peak travel season nears.

Travel experts believe airlines could cancel up to 85,000 flights in June if the conflict continues after US strikes upended traffic through the key Strait of Hormuz.

Some experts fear jet fuel shortages within weeks and some consumers are holding off booking holidays or flights in case they are cancelled over the coming months.
